This a thread for all you DISers who love the Animal Kingdom! Sure, it may not be the most popular park, but it is by far one of the most fun! If you love the Animal Kingdom, post here and tell what your favorite part of the park is!!

I'll start:
I like the Primeval Whirl...I never rode it because I thought it was a children's roller coaster, but BOY was I wrong! It is one of the neatest rides I have been on!!

We love the theming as you woalk over the bridghe into Africa - it seems like you actually walked into a different continent.

My son loves all kinds of animals and it's amazing to see his excitment over seeing a squirrel or birds in the backyard. We went to the Pocahontas show last trip and we loved it - so cute and a good message.

Also, on his first trip (he just had turned 3) he was deathly afraid of all of the characters, but wouldn't you know he brushed every goat at Rafiki's Planet Watch. :teeth:

I think it helps to be "zoo people." We've been fortunate enough to live near two world-renowned zoos (Toledo, OH--believe it or not--and Fort Worth, TX) so we've been taking DS5 all his life. Because we loved the zoo so much, he learned to love it too.

I'm not saying DAK is merely a "zoo" at all! It just helps that we already love animals and the intricacies of their habitats. When you add Disney to the mix, pixiedust: WOW!

Our favorite parts are anything with the animals--KS, Maharaja Jungle Trek and Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. I could watch the tigers in MJT all day! And DS wanted to spend hours in the aviaries. It's definitely not a park to visit in a rush! :sunny:

Hands down my favorite show at any of the Disney Parks is in the Animal Kingdom. I just love Festival of the Lion King. :simba: It gives me goose bumbs just thinking about it. For any of you out there that hasn't seen it yet it is a must see on your next trip.

I too am a "zoo person". In fact I volunteer for the Bronx Zoo, one of the best in the world and one of the few to have animal exhibits on par with DAK. Needless to say as a Disney fan, when I heard they were doing an animal them park I thought two things: about time and I can't wait.

DAK is terrific from the Oasis to Dinosaur. I think they pulled it off very well. I could think of a few things they could add, but its great.

My favorite part is the Safari. As a zoo exhibit it pulls off what every zoo exhibits strives for: 1. Entertains, 2. Its humane to the animals, 3. Gets you to care for animals/ want to conserve.

I love everything about the park. Love the live performers, the rides ,the shows and the animals. My kids will occasionally choose to go there over the MK

I love AK :cool1:
I love that you can take a slower pace, you don't have to feel the need to run from one thing to another.
And one of my favorite relaxation spots is there:
The little tables behind the Dawa bar (Rum Rummer in hand of course) just sitting there enjoying the surroundings and if I've times it right, the African drummers will be there also at that time.
:thumbsup2

I love the theming too. It feels so exotic and tropical. I know that it's a bit of a complaint that people find it one of the hotter parks, but I think that adds to the theme!!!! I think the thing that gets me most every time I go is the Tree of Life, beautiful!

Animal Kingdom is my absolute favorite park, too. :teeth:

I love the safari ride. I still get excited every time I ride it, doesn't matter I've ridden it 50 thousand times before.

We just "discovered" Rafiki's conservation station on our last trip and my kids wanted to spend all day there.

I love the lush green-ness everywhere.

I love the food at Tusker house.

I love the music that plays in Camp Minnie Mickey. It's just a guitar playing various disney tunes. Very nice.

Festival of the Lion King is the best show ever.

My favorites would have to be the walk from the entrance up to the tree and taking my time to see all the animals along the way. Any of the view spots for animals anywhere in the park and the slower pace of the park its self. Let's see I also really enjoy the parade here and all the music. There is really nothing at all I don't like about this park but I do avoid Dinasour and the Primeval Whirl only because of health problems.

I just love everything about AK, and it's so hard to pick one favorite thing. But mine is probably the aviary in Panjani Forest Trail. I could stand forever and watch the birds. My secret dream is to be able to be the one who throws the food up to the bee-eaters.
Probably a more "normal" favorite would be the Discovery Island trails, getting to see the Tree of Life close up.

I truly think Animal Kingdom is Disney's most beautifully themed park. I love how you can see the Tree of Life from so many places in the park. I also think Festival of the Lion King is Disney's best attraction, hands down. I don't see how so many people have the nerve to label AK a half-day park; I could easily spend two days there!

This is my families 2nd favorite ( 1st. being MK) We love everything about the park. our next trip is 10 days. 3 of them will be a Animal Kingdom

I agree. I LOVE Primeval Whirl. It's a lot of fun, and I laugh the whole time. It's one of my favorite rides in WDW.

My other favorites at AK are Tarzan ( RIP :sad1: ), Kali, Kilaminjaro, and soon Expedition Everest. :Pinkbounc

It's just a beatiful place to walk around in and to relax in. All of the theming is perfect. I love the animal trails and the rides. It also has some of the best cs restaurants.

As you can see from my sig and tag, Tarzan Rocks! was my favorite here. I still LOVE the park very much and I always ride the Safari and am looking forward to EE

I love the feeling I get in my tummy as you walk through the Oasis and see the Tree of Life for the first time. Just incredible! AK also has my favorite parade! I just love Minnie and that bubble bath. Also, Devine is one of my favorite things to watch...I could watch that for an hour and not get bored.

One of the things I love about AK is the theme. Disney has done an excellent job of recreating Asia and Africa. It gives me the feeling as though I actually crossed continents. And I will never stop being amazed by The Tree of Life. What an excellent icon for the park. We're doing the Wild By Design tour this September. I can't wait! :jumping1:
