I'm not a very eloquent writer, so please bare (or is it bear) with me...........there's just a few comments I'd like to make.

First of all, I fully supported McCain and what he stands for. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin. My decision not to support Obama had nothing to do with his skin color either.

While I disagree with most of what Obama proposses, I also do not think America is going to hell in a handbasket.

Yes, I'm a little sad today. But I felt this way when Clinton was elected also. I'll get over it. Just give me a couple days. There's really no need to rub salt in wounds or to gloat. I'm not a sore looser but I also don't need my nose rubbed in it.

I hope and pray that I'm wrong with my opinions of what Obama will do. I'd love to be pleasantly suprised. He will be my president and I will support him.

God Bless America:goodvibes

Very nice post. I personally hope that Prsident Elect Obama appionts John McCain to a cabinet position. I think it might help heal the division among us.

ITA! :thumbsup2

That was very nicely said. I've seen no gloating yet, and I hope not to.

I am sad for McCain today, too. He's a good man, and showed it last night with his very classy concession speech.

I actually heard a couple of the political pundits this morning saying that there is a good chance that he might appoint Senator McCain to some post.

We will have some interesting, and I hope, prosperouos and peaceful years.

I feel for President-Elect Obama...the eyes of the world are on him, more than other Presidents, I think. Tough job.

That is the downside of elections. A good part of the country will always feel sad and disappointed.

They are both extraordinary men. I am an Obama supporter, but still respect McCain deeply for the commitment he has had to this country for so long. The McCain supporters can hold their heads high supporting such a great man. He may not have been elected, but that doesn't take away the fact that he is a true American hero. I hope and pray that he will be an integral part of Obama's administration, whether leading the senate or in Obama's cabinet.

I don't agree with a lot of OBAMA's agenda but I did not cast my vote to MCCAIN because of Obama is black. If you think I did then you are the one with the problem not me.

I am not even sad.

For me, I do not put my faith in McCain, Obama or Bush--they will all let me down. My faith is in God and His Will to be done. Personally, I believe it is God's Will that obama be the POTUS at this time in history. It all happens for a reason greater than ourselves and we'll have to watch it all unfold.

I'm hoping for a United States, a rebound financially and spiritually for this country. I hope that for My DD and for her kids and their kids. I think it is a huge request for this country to do either but I will always hope and always seek the positive.

I think I'm gonna go book a trip to WDW now. That'll get it all off to a really good start! ;) :)

thank you all for your positive comments!:goodvibes

I voted for Obama but have always respected Senator McCain. I mostly respect those voters, on both sides, who can rally and pull together and do what is best for our country without slinging mud and hatred.

I agree. I may not agree with some of what McCain stands for, but I respect him and his accomplishments. While I watched his speech last night, I felt sad for him, but I also felt an enormous respect. I don't think I could honestly ever have respect for Sarah Palin, but I will always have respect for John McCain. I would be happy to see Barack Obama include McCain in his cabinet. :thumbsup2

I have to comment.......
I personally did not really like either candidate at first.

After reviewing what they stood for, I noticed both candidates had their positives and negatives. McCain had the most positives on my personal list....so I took him on as "my candidate."

McCain was my logical choice. The choice that I felt would be best for the economy right now.

But...my heart felt that Obama would be a good change for America and show that we are open to change, etc. I did agree with some of what he said.

Neither candidate was perfect......and neither candidate would have done things perfectly in office.........:)

Now that Obama will be president, I fully support him and am excited to see what he will do! I never disliked either candidate, but I just picked the one that seemed a good choice for the economy. Obama has my support now that he has won:goodvibes I love the United States, because of the acceptance of different views. If nobody had different opinion....then what? :)

Obama now has my full support, and I can't wait to see what he will do!

This thread is a refreshing change from all the other bickering back and forth political threads! :thumbsup2 Regardless of who our candidate of choice was, let's all remember we all want the same thing, "a great big beautiful tomorrow" for America! :wizard:

(I'm sorry.. I really couldn't resist! lol And besides.. it's true, isn't it?? hehe)

I pray for our country and the world every day, no matter who is in power. I want our country to succeed and continue to be a leader in the security of the rights of the individual, and so.......

as a I stood in line yesterday for hours, I listened to some gripe about the inconvenience, but I marveled at the privilege we have to choose our leaders.

What a great post. You expressed exactly what I was thinking.
I'm sure there are some that will gloat anyway, but there are probably people on our side that would do the same. Life goes on and we'll make the best of it.:goodvibes
