a third US Disney Theme Park?

I am not all that familiar with Disneyland and California Adventures attendance but I know WDW has seen a decline of most down periods. There aren't many slow times of the year to visit anymore.

Is there a chance, and wouldn't it make sense for Disney to eventually open a 3rd Theme Park located somewhere in the central US to help alleviate some of the building crowds?

I would love it but my guess is nowhere in the near future would this happen.

It would make no sense at all. There is no reason for them to spread their profits into another location. They wouldn't see a return on the investment in the amount of time to make it worth it.

Attendance may be up at other parks... but that doesn't mean there is enough demand to support another US location.

The problem with a 3rd, centralized location is that it wouldn't really generate much more total attendance. It would, more than likely, simply cannibalize guests from the existing resort locations. The potential increase in "local" guests to the central park is unlikely to outweigh the losses to the two existing parks plus the overhead for the third one.

Overseas are the most likely places for new resorts these days, where the increase in "local" guests has much, much higher potential.

Very good answer. I also doubt that Disney would add a new theme Park in the US. Living in Canada, I would love to see a Disney Park up here but due to the weather, I don't think it will happen.

I actually think that if Disney add something new in the US (or even Canada), it would be something like Alauni...

During the 90s, they wanted to build another park near DC with an America theme but the various interest groups killed it.

Too bad. That would have been cool.

Also, there is the weather issue. With a centrally local park it can be horrific during winter season.

I was about to throw this out there too! I in VA and would LOVE to have a park closer b.

I think a fifth gate in Florida is more likely than a new park elsewhere in the United States.

But I doubt a fifth gate happens anything soon.
