Hi there and welcome to my trip report!
This trip was a surprise for my two kids and so after some short introductions I will post the video of them figuring out what their big surprise was for Easter!

There's some background about the trip also in my PTR-the link is in my siggie. My PTR also covers my summer trip which is coming up in just 74 days!! Wahoo!!

Okie dokie...on to the specifics:
Dates: April 4th (barely!)-April 8th
Where: Villas at Wilderness Lodge
Who:
Me, Stacy. I'm a 39 (:scared1:) wife, mom of 2, and 2nd grade teacher. I'm the major planner, love all things Disney, and am pretty loud, silly, and goofy! People that know me would say I am outgoing but that's only if I know you...if not, I am VERY shy. Even have a hard time joining in on the DIS on some threads. So, if you're reading along please feel comfortable here and join in!!!

DH, John. Soon to be 39..hehehe! He's an electrical engineer by trade but is in the management side of things nowadays. He loves Disney as much as me but just isn't as *loud* about it if you know what I mean.;)

DS, Ben, 9. Ben is just like me but without the shyness. He's usually smiling and goofing around. Ben loves Disney, especially the restaurants, Star Wars, and Legos.

DD, Ellie, 7. Ellie is like her daddy and tends to be very reserved. She got an extra helping of shyness but has come a long way. She's a happy girl that loves to read, loves Disney as much as her momma, and can occupy herself happily without electronic gadgets. She also  to draw and is quite good we think.

This trip came to be mostly because we bought DVC in October and had all of '09 points included in our contract. So we banked them and got to planning some trips!! We had this short trip, our bigger summer trip, and then another short trip at Christmas! We got AP's on this trip!!:yay:

We decided to fly since this trip was so short and ended up with great airfare out of Dulles (Washington, DC). John's sister, Laura, lives very close to that airport and she graciously agreed to put us up and take us to and pick us up from the airport. We were very grateful to her for that so we didn't have to worry about our car while gone! Plus, we don't get to see them as often as we'd like so it was wonderful to be there for Easter and spend some time with them.

I think that's a good start so I'll close here and get this thing really started!!:dance3:

Saturday (4/3) we woke up and got ready at a leisurely pace. We were in no hurry as we had no plans except to hang out and visit with Laura and her family once we got there. We gathered up last minute things and hit the road around 10. We hit traffic almost immediately. I guess we never really thought about the fact that it was a holiday weekend. We stopped for lunch at an IHOP a little after 12 and then resumed the trip. The GPS had us get off at one point to avoid traffic but it took us through a town so that didn't help one bit!! After that John just stayed on the interstate. We finally made it...a few hours after we should have. We visited, ordered pizza, and played outside. Then it was showers for everyone and bed. The kids knew, at this point, that they had a big surprise coming for Easter. Ben was thinking it was a trip to Potomac Mills because when he asked if we could go to the Lego store I said "sure". Little did he know which Lego store he could go to....

Sunday-Easter (4/4). What a beautiful day! Ben was up early and found his bucket. Ellie was up not soon after and found hers. Then we heard Sydney (Laura's DD) up so we headed upstairs to give her our Easter present. The kids explored their baskets and were itching for the egg hunt. Laura got a few things together for our big breakfast and then we headed out to hide the eggs while the kids got dressed.

I had filled 14 blue and green eggs with starburst and scrabble tiles for Ben and 14 red and purple with Hershey's kisses and scrabble tiles for Ellie. Laura used other colors for Sydney so everyone's eggs could be hidden in the same area. We gave the kids directions for which colors were theirs and then released the hounds!

After all the eggs were found, they settled in at the table to figure out their surprise. I had made a poster with blanks so they knew how many letters in each word. At first Ben insisted that the first word was "It" and wouldn't budge. Finally I told him that it wasn't IT and to move on. Then John said something about spelling Dragon. I quickly nixed that and told them there was no dragon in it. Geesh! Pretty soon it all started coming together. Please forgive my appearance as it is only about 7 something this morning.

Hey, I got in early for once!!
What a great way to surprise the kids!

Memom - where did you find that "ring around the rosie" smilie?!! Cute!

Hi Sheree! Thanks for coming over!

The surprise was fun, lots of fun. I'm not sure I'd ever do it again though-too hard to not talk about the trip!

That is a cute smilie. I've never seen that one before!
