A "super" E-Ticket comming to Tommrowland?

What about a simulator/game where you actually compete individually against other people on light cycles... Maybe two teams like the scene in the movie. If you get blown up by someone on the opposing team, they earn points, and you respawn. After a few minutes, ride's over, final scores are displayed, etc... Like a Men in Black mixed with Mission: Space I guess is what I'm getting at, if that makes sense...

actually this is not a bad idea. Whatever this attraction is, lets hope its something orginal!

One problem I have with the coaster idea - does anyone really think Disney would put a coaster right next to another coaster? I just don't see that happening.

.

I don't see why they wouldn't put a thrill ride right next to Space Mountain. Look at Disney Hollywood. It put its 2 premier rides right next to each other. Also, not only did they put their to premier rides next to each other, but on the other side of ToT, They have their headline performance.

Then in Epcot, they have TT right next to M:S. Even in Magic Kingdom, they have Thunder Mountain right next to Splash Mountain.

So it is not unprecedented to have 1 E-ticket next to another.

As for a simulator... Either bring back ExtraTERRORestrial or replace Stitches Escape entirely with some kind of simulator. You have the enclosed structure already in place.

I think the idea of Tron is nice, but the realistic implementation of it wouldn't work.

By the time it was finished, the movies will be stale and won't have that much of a draw. It's not like Harry Potter where a movie is yet to even come out and it's already up and running.

I'd cast my chips in for something like Space Mountain: Second Mission that Eurodisney has. Pretty darn good ride and can build on a legend rather than going with something completely new to park lore.

Word is Disney has several additional Tron productions in the pipeline - another movie, animated series, etc. But admittedly, Disney has generally been slow to capitalize on anything they've done lately within the parks.

As for HP, yes, they managed to get it opened before the last two movies are out, but it proved to be too small. But the books are done, there won't be any more movies...will it have staying power? Possibly, but time will tell.

Personally I think HP will have similar staying power to the Narnia books, at the very least, which came out well before I was born (I'm 23) and I still read them all, as have many of my friends. People will save these books and give them to their kids, and so on. Harry Potter is the type of franchise that won't go away quietly in to the night. Especially with rumors that she's thinking about writing up to three more books.

Yeah, the HP books are a good new bridge between saturday morning cartoons and the late teenage years. I'd imagine several new generations will grow up with them as a staple in their adolescent recreation.

She says she nixed the additional books after she promised Daniel Radcliffe that there would be no more HP...

LOL, I was expecting more resistance in favor of the Skyway bathrooms.

I'd be more upset about the loss of the bathrooms than the Dance Party myself!

If you read my post, I didn't say that they I though they wouldn't put another thrill ride next to Space Mountain, but that they wouldn't put a roller coaster next to it. What I was saying is that I doubt it would be a roller coaster, but more of a simulator ride, with possible track elements. You are correct that it is very common to put two thrill rides next to eachother...this is somewhat purposeful to crowd control (splitting the thrill crowd up).

Well,

Disney JUST Refurbished Space Mountain. During the Refurbishment, Disney was planning to change the track like they did at disneyland.

However they kept the track the same because the public didn't want a new space mountain. (Thank God. The new one in Disneyland is Horrendous (in my opinion))

For that reason, I highly doubt they would make a New space mountain Mission 2 type of coaster.

I don't recall any real backlash from "the public" about not wanting a new SM. and I thought general feedback of the new DL SM was favorable. As far as I know, they just simply cut back to save money.

When has Disney really done anything due to guest feedback?

my information may be a little off, but the point remains the same.

That is that if they were gonna update or change the track they had a perfect chance and chose not to.

finally, I still didn't like the new space mountain, there is no drop, even a little one. all it is is turn after turn after turn

I haven't been to the refurbed SM in DL, but I have ridden the one in Tokyo, which I believe underwent the same renovation. It's WAY better than the one in WDW. Smoother, feels faster and has better drops.

There was a thread on this recently, most people here at least seem to like the DL/Tokyo one better.

By the time it was finished, the movies will be stale and won't have that much of a draw.

Like Snow White, Peter Pan, Dumbo, and Song of the South, among others? None of these attractions, based on movies released decades ago, seem to have a problem drawing the crowds in. A blockbuster movie does not necessarily equal a blockbuster theme park attraction; A film which bombed at the box office could potentially provide rich source material for an attraction.

Indeed, some of Disney's greatest "dark-ride" experiences were based on the mundane sounding concepts of energy, communications, and agriculture, in an entire park where movie and franchise tie-ins don't belong.

However they kept the track the same because the public didn't want a new space mountain.

No, they kept the same track because it was cheaper than replacing it, and that's really all that matters to Disney today. Can't let outdated notions like quality, innovation, and meeting (exceeding) the customers expectations get in the way of executive bonuses, can we?

If the one in Tokyo has drops it is not the same. The one in Disneyland CA has NO true drops. Just a slight one that you wouldn't know was there from riding the ride in the dark

It's just not fun because there is no unexpected drops.

yeah and that refurbishment was nothing special. What I was told they where looking at giving space mountain a major upgrade but decided against it and plan for a new attraction.

It makes sence now.

The 2nd Mission one in Paris is basically like Rock'N Rollercoaster, only about 3x as good. High speed takeoff, loops, almost pitch black while riding. Not for the faint of heart!

They could do so many fun things with an add-on like that. Especially building it "into" the first one so there was an additional entry queue coming from the original exit line at the top of the conveyor belt or something. Make it so the people mover traveled through both buildings.

It would be a huge draw.

But like someone previously stated, MK has no problem with attendance, especially with the FLE. If this is true, I too wish they would have allocated it to DAK or DHS.

When has Disney really done anything due to guest feedback?

In general or just at WDW?

Disney added Pirates to MK due to guest feedback, they removed Alien Encounter due to too much criticism, they added the "green" version of Mission:Space.

I'd say those were a few things.

Yeah with FLE and now this new TL rumor hot on the stove I agree with you. I was hoping for BK, MI in DAK to be the next project or something in DHS.
