A "super" E-Ticket comming to Tommrowland?

Honestly I feel like were all underestimating the tech Disney could apply to this rumored ride. Easily, a motorbike rollercoaster system could be applied and be extremely effective. Track and cars could be outfitted with neon LED electronics to create the lightcycle effect, and from there the surroundings, considering it an indoor attraction would be the grid and overview of Tron City. Plot wise, grid games with lightcycles I'm sure. Its a matter of applying technology old and new. As for the track layout, I'm unsure if somebody posted the plausible track layout here, but someone did post it elsewhere and presented this:

Clearly were all wondering what the heck it could be. Yet take a look at this coaster, a motorbike coaster with a track layout similar to the rumored layout/location.

Looks awfully similar doesn't it? Even better, take a look at who manufactured that motorbike coaster, Vekoma, a good friend of Disney. I'm not saying this is exactly what's going to happen, but it's definitely a strong possibility I pieced together.

There's may also be a way to enclose those bikes, giving them a HUD/projection system that could easily add "personal" effects. Sort of "simulator-y", without being a simulator. The only issue would be weight of the ride vehicles which, I'm pretty sure, they could meet.

I think a Tron light bike coaster would be an AWESOME addition to the MK. It would give the park some cred that it has been lacking in comparison to the other parks (Epcot: TT and M:S. AK: EE, KRR and Dinosaur. DH: RR and ToT). Also, if they could set up the coaster in an almost "Dueling Dragons" type manner, that would even let it rival the IoA and SW coasters.

One problem I have with the coaster idea - does anyone really think Disney would put a coaster right next to another coaster? I just don't see that happening.

I guess that's why I think of some kind of motion simulator / track hybrid. The fact is, the best rides nowadays combine motion simulation with actual physical space. (I'm thinking Spiderman and even HP at IoA - though I haven't ridden the latter.)

NYTIMES - it IS a rumors board, but part of the fun of rumor speculation (to me anyways) is to feel out whether a rumor is realistic. Why many aspects of this one feel plausible, the biggest ? to me is would really Disney invest this much more in MK while still installing the new FL. That is what makes this one seem more of a "blue sky" project to me than a "really happening" project. Only time will tell for sure.

An opinion on a rumor is an opinion on a rumor -- it's not up to you or I to set limits or rules on how they're discussed, and no one should be belittled as a "fanboi" for having one.

To anyone who thinks Tron isn't popular enough for a ride just look at Splash Mountain its based off of a film that nobody under the age of 20 has seen. Also if every attraction had to be based off of a popular film there would be like 2 rides in MK. Think about it POTC and HM both original attractions along with BTM, SM.

I imo don't think TL needs two coastes I hope its based off of some type of simulator.

:thumbsup2 you are correct!

Technically, it is a NEWS and Rumors board. Sometimes we have to figure out which is which. :)

I think the TRON attraction or whatever it is is right where DI needs to innovate - come up with the next best thing. People are still clamoring about the 12-year-old Spider-Man, and Forbidden Journey being a newer variation of it.

But PLEASE, make it a fast loader... :)

Actually, Rumors and News, technically. Rumors first. ;)

But yeah, that works for me -- I just didn't like PP's 'tude. It's one thing to not like a rumor, disagree with a rumor, speculate on it's viability or how realistic it may or may not be... but to come to a board called "Rumors and News" and tell people they need to wait for details to form an opinion rubbed me wrong, and the "fanboi" remark was uncalled for.

Well I wouldn't be on these boards if I wasn't a "fanboi".
"Fanaticboi" might be a better description actually...

Where did the pic come from with the lay out?

that would be perfect IMHO.

LOL, seems a little complicated to me. There is a ton of room between SM and CoP. I don't think anyone is attached to the bathrooms or Stich's stage.

NOOOO! Not Stich's dance party stage! You can take away anything, but not that! My best memories ever are of dancing with my daughter, Goofy and a guy dressed as DJ Lance Rock during MNSSHP party! Disney is completely in the toilet if they dare remove the Tomorrowland Dance Party stage!

(Sorry couldn't resist. This is a joke of course.)

LOL, I was expecting more resistance in favor of the Skyway bathrooms.

I'm Very disappointed at seeing the Skyway Bathrooms disappear. I used to enjoy emptying my bladder there as a kid before riding Space Mountain. It was a fun and memorable ritual as I was growing up. I had always thought that I would be able to share that experience and ritual with my kids someday as the beginning of a long lasting family tradition. How dare they remove those bathrooms!! Think of the children! (and their future memories)

:lmao: Better?

Not to ruin your statement but I'm under 20 and love Song of the South. Of course, I also frequent Disney theme parks alot so I suppsoe I'm just an outlier. :thumbsup2

Although, I do agree. Again I'm rather young and I liked the first tron and really, really enjoyed legacy. The problem these days is people only expect a ride to happen or be in existence if its film counterpart did extremely well. Sadly, they're probably right considering Disney's thought process of "hmm what can make us more money." rather than "hmm what would people actually enjoy, despite its being based on something unknown/less popular."

What about a simulator/game where you actually compete individually against other people on light cycles... Maybe two teams like the scene in the movie. If you get blown up by someone on the opposing team, they earn points, and you respawn. After a few minutes, ride's over, final scores are displayed, etc... Like a Men in Black mixed with Mission: Space I guess is what I'm getting at, if that makes sense...

The Skyway Bathrooms are very convenient for families with young children. Our Daughter will be 3 in a few months... she has been to WDW twice(and DL once) with another trip to the world this year. We use the child swap for Space Mountain and it's convenient for one of us to take her in the bathroom while the other is on the ride. It also has the shady area on th North side with benches & is a good meeting place afterwards. It's a great shelter too... during rain showers!

Trust me - with a daughter who had medical issues at the time those bathrooms were heavensent on more than one trip!!!
