A "super" E-Ticket comming to Tommrowland?

I've ridden many bike coasters like the ones posted in the link.

The things I see as possible problems with a bike coaster is...

1: Restraints

the biggest problem i have with those coasters are that the restraints are uncomfortable, Very very uncomfortable. They are also very very complicated to put on and buckle. That means that load and unload times would be very long.

2: trains

the trains are not very long and each row only has 2 seats. therefor capacity will not be high, and most likely not up too Disney's own set standards.

3: inversions

The way the trains and restraints are, they do not allow for inversions. while this is not a huge deal to most people, there are many people who think Disney is a park that is weak in Thrilling roller coasters. The only coaster with an inversion on property is RnR. Thrill seekers are more and more interested in inversions on their roller coasters. If disney is doing another roller coaster, and calling it a "Super" E-ticket, i believe that many people will be dissapointed if they decide to exclude inversions.

well thats my $0.02

you have some great points

just looking at the restraints they look uncomfortable as for the unloading and loading they would have mutiple loading/unloading areas. if they would go with this.

Yes I would hope they would have inversions for there next coaster.

It would be great if they would just blow us away with a new type of ride.

Yeah, i agree.

i would love to see a new coaster type, or at least a coaster with inversions that is smooth.

RnR is fun, however it always gives me a headache.
Not from the music but from the ride shaking, banging my head from side to side in the restraints.

The bike coasters are probably thrilling enough for the style without the inversions.

But I noticed that the height restrictions are excessive for a Disney ride, at 55 inches.

actually,

the bike coasters are about as thrilling as peter pan and thats not just my opinion. That is the opinion of many thrill seekers.

If i was Disney i would stay away from Bike coasters.

and in all honesty i would stay away from tron.

speaking of Tron, can someone explain to me why everyone assumes it's going to be a tron based ride?

I spoke with a good friend who lives in orlando and he has been spot on with other projects. All he said for this one is that its a super E-ticket in tommrow land that has been green lit and announcement should be with in a year. Figment who seems to be a reliable source is cluing us in on the Tron theme, I am thinking Tron too. What I heard orginally Adventure land was to get a new E-Ticket but now the new E-ticket will go to Tommrow Land then Adventure Land will get its E-ticket.

Given that TRON is a movie, it would best be served at DHS, I think. Ideally, Tomorrowland would be it's own theme, and not adulterated - too late, I guess, given Stitch, Monsters and Buzz...all of which were contemporary characters and not really futuristic (Buzz is a contemporary toy but themed to the future).

I can accept the genesis of the attractions in Fantasyland, and Pirates and HM created their movies, not the other way around - I'd rather MK be its own original themes and DHS be the movie tie ins. But too late, really...

You got it the AL E would have been Indythemed either a clone from DL or hybrid coaster form.

because several insiders are all but confirming an E-ticket for Shanghai and also possibly MK...specifically mentioned TRON is what it will be

ok.

I still don't like the idea of basing it on Tron Legacy.

It was a horrible movie. (good special effects but all around horrible movie)

Base it on the original Tron and i'm all for it.

In your opinion maybe, but most people who saw it gave it good ratings if you look at the stats from Yahoo movies, RottenTomatoes and BoxOfficeMojo

well, Rotten Tomatoes agree's with me,

however thats not the point.

I was just sharing MY opinion, which is that i thought the movie was AWFUL
:thumbsup2

hmm, it says 69% of people liked it on rottentomatoes :confused3

I'm not going by critics ratings because critics are often not in line with what the public likes

Jwhen we went to see Tron in 3D wife and I both said "this would be a great Disney attraction" in either Epcot or TL.
I am glad that this project now rumored to be Tron based.

I liked the movie DW found it boring, but she would still love a Tron based attraction.

the surprising thing would be them spending even more money on MK when it is always so crowded and nearly at capacity already?

surely DHS or AK which dont get so close to capacity so often would be a better use of the money? :confused3

I agree. I would think a Pixar Place expansion or a new land at DAK would be the next big thing

If not that, then maybe a new country at Epcot as there has been little change in awhile

I'm not a huge Tron fan but I agree it would make a great attraction if:

a) it is not a simulator
and
b) it has real speed and movement -- not the "Peter Pan" experience described earlier in this thread.

I think an Indiana Jones attraction in AL would be good. I enjoy the one at DL and wouldn't mind something similar to that.

Can't see Tron making a good attraction. It will likely be a simulator ride, and those are very old news nowadays.

I really, really hope it's not something truly lame like another re-theming for the Stitch's great escape ride, this time someone being "digitized" or something like that rather than being transported (laaaaaaame).

What I'd like is the Monster Inc doors coaster! Ever since seeing the movie I (and likely 99% of other people) thought that would be an awesome coaster.

Oh well. :goodvibes

Tron is a great theme for an attraction. The attraction, as others have said elsewhere, won't be a simulator, but may have some simulator-ish aspects, but mostly be a coaster. The possibilities are endless in a situation such as this.

What everyone should do is sit back, take a deep breath, and relax. There is no new ride, other than Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster, coming to MK any time soon. And if there are plans for Tron in Magic Kingdom, let's wait until we hear details first before saying the attraction will stink.

Fanbois... What would Disney fan sites be without them? Logical perhaps? :confused3

You know you're on the rumors board, right? Once we have details, it's no longer a rumor.

Everyone here knows this is just speculation. That doesn't mean we can't have an opinion on it.

Go hang out on the logical board if this is not your thing.
