A Suit and Flip Flops?

I'm with the group who thinks she had dressier shoes in her car and just wanted/needed something more comfortable to wear in the grocery store.. Those hard floors are brutal enough - without wearing heels while you're shopping..

Of course I might have been confused myself at first glance - until I thought about it a bit and came to the above conclusion..:goodvibes

I dress up everyday but I do not wear my heels to drive in or if I have to "hoof it" through the grocery store. I'll put on flats in the winter and usually some sort of flat sandal or Merrell flip flop during the summer months. Yeah, it looks bad but I don't care.

I also dress up everyday but I do not wear my heels to drive so if I have to stop anywhere on my way to and from work, I'd be in flip flops too.

I keep the majority of my work shoes in a bin under my desk. I commute to and from the office in hiking sandals or clogs. The weather around here can do a number on nice shoes--salt, sand, snow, etc. Plus, I walk from my office to the commuter train (about a mile). It's healthier and easier to make that walk in comfy shoes.

I wear flip flops to work everyday and change into my heels when I get there. I don't like to commute in heels.

I was at a funeral last month where a guy in a suit was wearing sandals. :confused3

Well, try to imagine this:

My coworker has taken to wearing Vibram Five Fingers. He used to only do it on casual Fridays but he has extended it to Thursdays--with his suit. He says it is for his foot health.

You won't catch me wearing flip flops, but you're likely to see me in the store in a suit and tennis shoes. The heels are for the clients (same with the suit, lipstick and panty hose), but the heels are the only things that are uncomfortable to wear while pushing a cart around a grocery store after a long day at the office.

Wouldn't look twice. I wear gym shoes, crocs or flip flops in work clothes all the time. The only time I wear heels would be while at work. Driving, or running errands before and after work call for comfy shoes.

I do it all the time. I wear heels all day, but I keep a pair of flip flops in my vehicle. I drive with them on, and wear them when I have to run into a store for something.

Well. You learn something new everyday. I don't know why I didn't think the woman was going to change her shoes. That would make sense. I've seen the sneakers and such with business attire, but that was a first for flip flops.

LOL!!! I had to read the responses to figure out what was so shocking in your original post. I guess we see it so much around here that it didn't even register. I know people who do not even own a pair of closed toe shoes..

Yep. I had to go and buy a pair of "closed toe" shoes just to be able to go into the stained glass shop for supplies. There's a warning posted at the door that you can't enter with sandals due to the possibility of having a sheet of glass slip and cut off a toe. Okay.

You can see me getting out of my car and hurrying into the glass shop with walking shoes on but not laced up and no socks. Ugly sight! :scared1: Son as I return to the car, I slip my sandals back on and off I go. :thumbsup2
