A Stringbean, a Wingnut, and a plan! (A January '12 PTR) TRIP REPORT STARTED!! 1/16!!

Ugh I hate flight changes!! Are you flying on Jet Blue? They did the same to me with our flight back, moved it up by 90 minutes...now that's 90 less minutes of Disney time!

Yay for no more allergies!!! So glad you will get to have Tonga Toast!!! :woohoo:

That's wonderful news! :cheer2:

Imagine all the wonderful things you'll be able to try! I bet your stomach is rumbling just thinking about it...

1. Flight change, how suckish. Nobody should mess with a Disney trip!

1. Allergies, how awesome! You must be having a great time thinking about all the things you will be able to eat. Also, how weird are our bodies to keep changing like that.

:woohoo: for less allergies!!!!! Thats such great news! Congrats!!

Boo to your flight being changed. I'm with you, we'll take the earliest flight down that we can!

Sara, I'm so incredibly behind! I don't even know where I left off! Dis time hasn't been too plentiful of late. But I'm here now and excited to read of your recent plans!

I see the waffling of ADR's has begun (or is continuing?;)) Lots of good choices though I hope you can work in Sci-Fi somehow, we really loved it there!

Yay for less allergies!! Girl, that is fabulous news! Spice allergies suck, don't they? I recently learned I'm intolerant to allspice and nutmeg. Which I happen to love, isn't that so wrong? Anywho, how great that you can just stroll on in for your ADR's and not worry about allergic reactions! Woo-hoo!:thumbsup2

Bummer about the flight delay change. Don't you just wish you could close your eyes, click your heels together and instantly be at Disney? I do. Sigh, I really miss it and don't even have a trip planned!

Everything is looking fab! Looking forward to keeping up with your PTR this time! Hope you're doing well too.:goodvibes

so stinky about the flight dealy :headache: grrr

but YAY about not having the food/spice allergies...I'd prep your body prior to the trip as to help your bodu tolerate that stuff...may not be as severe as going back on dairy persay...but hate to have a sick tummy

and super YAY for TONGA TOAST!!!! :thumbsup2

WOW! THAT IS BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!! Congrats! :cool1: I know how tough it is to live with allergies, mine aren't life threatening, but if I have dairy or wheat, I break out, get bloated, stiff, and generally feel crappy. HOW on earth did you get rid of allergies?!?!? That's really exciting!

Thank you!!! Ugh, a wheat allergy must stink! It's kind of strange, actually. I had been allergic to cinnamon since I was a baby. Then, when some of my circulation issues started up (cold hands and feet), that's when my other allergies popped up and the cinnamon one worsened. I hadn't tested it, but I haven't had an allergy problem since my surgery. We (and this is just us non-medical experts here guessing!) think it had to do with my circulation and other symptoms affecting so much, it possibly affected my food allergies too!

Strange, I know...lol.

Yipee!!!! I'm so happy that you don't have to worry about your allergies any more!

About the schedule change.... maybe you can call them and have them switch you to another flight... is there one that arrives earlier? or one the night before? Just a thought!

Thank you!!! So am I!

Thanks for the suggestion! Believe me, I've been scouring the airline's site! There's no earlier flight, unfortunately. And I don't want to mess with our free dining check-in dates. So we're gonna stick with it. Not a huge deal, but annoying!

That is such EXCITING news! Woo Hoo to no allergies!!!

I'd be upset if they changed my flight time too. We just want the magic to start ASAP! :wizard:

Thank you!!!

Hahaha exactly!! Especially since I'm already awake that night like "I'm too excited to sleeeeeep!" :rotfl:

We are, I hate when the flight times change!! But overall I really do like flying JetBlue, so I won't complain too much! Oh no...I'm really hoping our flight home doesn't change!

Thank you!!! I'm excited too! :cool1:

Cool!!!! Let's see if this posts from my phone

Thanks!! Looks like it did!!! :yay::yay:

That's wonderful news! :cheer2:

Imagine all the wonderful things you'll be able to try! I bet your stomach is rumbling just thinking about it...

Thank you!!! Hahahaha it is!! I'm very excited to not have to ask about every single dish in detail anymore!

Hahahaha right?? Don't they know we have a finely tuned schedule here?? :rotfl:

Thank you!!! It's fun thinking of the things I can now have that I skipped over before!

It is weird! I posted this above too, but I had been allergic to cinnamon since I was a baby. It just makes sense to us to get there as early as possible! Why would we want to spend a moment of our day not there??

Hey Molly!!! I missed seeing you around here!! :goodvibes

Hahaha you haven't missed much, our plans change too much! We are going to Sci-Fi on our last full day, definitely wasn't going to pass up a chance to visit the 50-foot-tall woman!!

Thank you!!! I'm very excited about this! Oh allspice and nutmeg were two of my allergies too! Can you do cinnamon instead? Hopefully you don't have to pass up too many of your favorite foods!

Oh how wonderful would magic instant Disney transportation be?? Why hasn't that been invented? I'd love that. I'd zip over to the TTA right now...:cloud9:

Thank you!!! Hope all is well with you too!!!

Thank you!!! I know, I've been starting to work up to larger amounts to get used to it here. But so far, so good!! :thumbsup2:cool1:

Oh good, you're still hitting up Sci-Fi! Whew! You're going to love it, the goofy sci-fi clips alone are worth going for. Didn't you say Wingnut had a penchant for the sci-fi genre? If so, he'll be in heaven!

Yup, allspice and nutmeg. I can handle cinnamon without any issues but not the other two. It makes me sad, just a little. Honestly, how am I supposed to have a proper chai tea without nutmeg? It's not right!

Magical Disney transportation. Love it! I wish it existed then it wouldn't take us forever to drive down there, no time wasted on traveling which of course means more time at my happy place.

We're all doing well, sort of, if you consider 2/3 of us having some resistant biblical plague like flu! Other than that, we're great. Seriously though, lots of real life drama but nothing a Disney trip couldn't cure, right? DH said he was getting the itch to return. I asked as nonchalantly as possible (ya right!) when he was thinking of and he said next October. As in more than a year from now. I was secretly hoping he'd say this February or even end of January but alas, no dice. Insert big, big sigh right HERE!

Anywho, glad to hear you're doing well! I still can't believe you don't have to worry about those allergies anymore. Did you outgrow them somehow? Were they anaphylactic reactions or more gastro related?

Looking forward to the future waffling, er I mean solidifying of ADR's! ;) :goodvibes

Yay!!! This is the best season for having no spice allergies too! Cinnamon and nutmeg and allspice are just so fall-and-winter-y! Especially the cookies. Yum!

I do think those little toothbrush things are pretty cool. Not that I would ever be able to remember to use them but they're fun to look at and imagine I'm that organized. I'm glad that y'all no longer have to deal with them (if you choose not to)!

I just realized I was reading your TR last on my phone! I posted Cool because I was happy about your allergies (or lack there of). Bummer about the plane change, but I constantly hear people having flight changes with Air Tran and Jet Blue! That is one thing I love about SWA - they don't change flight times! Although, I tend to have a lot of delays flying home.

We definitely are still going to Sci-Fi! I went when I was younger, but haven't been in years. YES Wingnut is OBSESSED with B-movies from the '50s or so. When we first started dating he was shocked I hadn't seen Them (giant ants), and insisted on showing it to me - definitely right along the lines of these clips!

Ugh how annoying! Hahahaha I haven't had chai tea in forever because of the billion ingredients I was allergic to - I feel your pain! Maybe you can find some sort of substitute!

I hope you guys are feeling better soon!!! Plagues are never fun! But that's fun that a trip might be in your future! I know, as soon as someone shows the slightest interest in going I'm like "so that means we can go tomorrow, right???"! But next October would give you lots of time to plan and get excited! And you could go for Food and Wine! I've always wanted to be there for that.

It's sort of strange about my allergies. I had been allergic to cinnamon since I was a baby (it would be hives wherever the cinnamon touched). Then, when some of my circulation issues started up (cold hands and feet), that's when my other allergies popped up and the cinnamon one worsened (when I had any of the foods, I wouldn't be able to swallow). I hadn't tested it, but I haven't had an allergy problem since my surgery. Oh, I'm sure that there will be more changes to come! :thumbsup2

It SO is, you're right!! I always would say that my allergies were the most annoying around the holidays - Thanksgiving in particular! It's still so weird to me to see recipes and foods and not have to cast them aside instantly because of trace amounts of cinnamon!

Hahahaha Wingnut really hated using them, actually. They're definitely convenient, and were necessary, but how they work is you have to like bite a little ball of super-concentrated minty mouthwash stuff, and it was like a mint bomb would go off in his mouth hahaha. (It also didn't help that he's not the biggest fan of mint...)

I think life without the allergies is going to be some kind of fun! :woohoo:

I know, I'm so excited!!! Cinnabon, here I come!! :rotfl:

That's what I figured!! It did seem to post okay though, I haven't figured out how to do that on my phone yet.

It does stink, but I do love everything else about JetBlue, so it's not a huge deal. I'm just like: that was an extra hour of Disney time we could have had!!

My parents recently went to Disney, and I had to share what they brought back for Wingnut and I!

Nom nom nom...

I had seen this online and had absolutely fallen in love with it:

Have you SEEN the new "it's a small world" merchandise???? Is it not the most adorable set you've ever come across??? I'm smitten.

A closer look at the lid:

And the other side:

Seriously. Awesome. :lovestruc

Also of interest to a few people reading this: they also walked past the Phineas and Ferb M&G and waved hi.

Check out Agent P over Ferb!

(Okay, yes, that picture did make me laugh a little bit...)

The set looks pretty cute!! I definitely want to meet them when we go!

Moving on with the 30(0000) day park challenge...

Day 7: Your Favorite Attraction in Adventureland

This is a tough one for me between Pirates and Jungle Cruise. I asked Wingnut, and he instantly replied "Jungle Cruise". I adore them both. How can you not love seeing that 8th Wonder of the World, the backside of water??? How can you not love "we wants the redhead!!"???

I can't choose. This one is a tie for me.

Day 8: Epcot: Future World or World Showcase?

Okay, this one I'm a bit more decisive on. World Showcase for me! (And Wingnut too!) I just love wandering through the different countries and shops, seeing the different shows, and eating the different pastries.

Oh, and the various worldly drinks! :thumbsup2 It's culture, served on the rocks with salt! :rotfl:

How about you guys? What are your favorites? (And yes, absolutely include your favorite treat/drink around World Showcase! Mine is the Napoleon and the Grey Goose squishee - one-stop wonderfulness!)

Uh...Grey Goose slushie, hands down! I dream about when I'll get another! Foodles are few and far between for me b/c I haven't had the chance to sample many. I LOVED the vegetarian platter in Morocco though! Mmmmm

In Adventureland I am going to to have to go with Pirates without a doubt though I do enjoy the backside of water as well but Pirates is essential Disney to me.

For me....I'm torn about WS and Future World. How can you not love Future World, the super awesome music as you walk in, Spaceship Earth, Soarin' and Living with the Land? I do enjoy me some World Showcase but I think Future World wins by just a little bit, like if you stuck your feet straight out on Soarin. :lmao:

I will give you my favorite WS treat though, it's more like a meal. Fish & Chips from that little yummy stand in United Kingdom. Yum. I could so go for those right now.

Although I most frequently go on Pirates, I have to say that I'm leaning towards Jungle Cruise because if you get a good captain - well - need I say more???? Right Wingnut?????

As far as Epcot is concerned - my new found love and passion over the Ditch and its fabulous beverages has made the World Showcase my #1.

So nice of your parents to bring you home some goodies! You must have been dying that you weren't there with them.
