Has anyone seen the person made up as a statue in Italy at Epcot? She was really funny (and a very good mime). I went up to pose for a picture and she proceeded to hold me in various positions. Then when I thought she was finished, she stole my sunglasses! It was a roar! I can’t wait to see how the pictures turn out!

I've never seen her ~ Although I wish I had!!!

Is she only there at certain times of the day?

Did she at least give you her phone number?

minniespal - I only saw her there one day. It was on a Monday and about 1:00PM. She had a large crowd around her.

hucifer - You're funny! She was such a good pick pocket that maybe I should check my other pockets of the clothes I was wearing that day. Maybe I'll get lucky ;)

Hmmm...any seducing male statues?

She's a riot! Hubby and I tried to pose for a photo next to her....she pushed me away and started hugging my husband! It was hilarious!

I haven't really been watching the statues much since they moved to Italy, but they used to have a male statue back when they were in France.

When we were there about two years ago, the statue stole my child!!!! It was after the Tapestry parade and we passed by her on our way out. Although I don't think she's supposed to do this, when we approached her for pictures, she reached out to hold my son, who was maybe 16 months old. He was facinated and poked at her white face a bit. We took lots of pictures and when my mom finally went to retrieve DS from her, she turned her back and wouldn't give him up. The crowd laughed and finally she did give him back. An excellent series of photos came out of this and certainly one of our favorite memories.

The white stautes are so much fun regardless of which country has them :)! When we first saw them about 7-8 years ago, they were in Italy. They moved to France & now seem to be back in Italy.

Years ago some FL friends suggested we take the time to watch the World Showcase entertainment, & we did. Now we try to plan to see as much as possible as we go around the world.

That is such great advice. We used to whip through the countries on all of our trips. We figured the kids would be bored - and honestly I wasn't to thrilled either. On our last trip in September of 2001, we had UPH and Epcot was the only park open late, so we ended up there almost everynight and took time to explore the countries. The kids loved the kid stations and making their masks. We caught the TOD parade and a lot of the entertainment (such as the Living Statues in France) and it was so much fun. When we go back in August, I want to spend at least a couple of nights in the WS.

I love these statues. There was a male statue in France, but we haven't seen him in Italy. We love to watch unsuspecting people pose for pics. It seems the last male that comes up to pose, gets flirted with a bit. I also love when she holds a baby. Such precious pictures. I have never seen a baby cry. They are just fascinated with the white face. And she's so gentle with them. Last September, she held a baby that was just months old (maybe 2) and it was absolutely wonderful. The babies mom was crying because it was so special. We love seeing all the acts in WS.

Try to catch Roland, the mime in France. He is hilarious. Although his act is a lot the same, since he uses people and kids that are just walking by, it's different.

Thanks for helping me remember to stop and smell the roses.

Living statues. Don't take them for 'granite', they're 'marblous'.
Daily at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 5:10, 6:15 & 7:30pm
Length of show: 30 minutes

Thanks for the link. :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I LOVE the living statues although I have never been a part of the show. I did not realize they had moved to Italy so I will be sure to check the guidemap during our trip. :)

Here's a picture of my husband and I with the living statue. She was wonderful, everyone was laughing because she keep pushing us closer to each other until we kissed. We had such a great time.
