I know I've seen this discussed but it is too hard to find on a search....

We will be bringing 2 strollers from home for our 3 & 4 yo's on our upcoming trip. I have a few questions about handling them in the parks....

1) Would it be 'OK' to leave it parked for a long length of time while going from ride-to-ride in say Fantasyland? I think it will be too hard to be pushing the strollers and keeping track of the boys while we go ride-to-ride in one area. I would leave next to nothing in it.

2) Where should I be prepared to NOT be able to push my stroller?
I know table service restaurants, what about counter? Monorail/train/boat?

3) We plan on packing a smallish backpack with clothes changes, sweatshirts, pullups, sunsceen etc. It will fit in the basket. We will take it on the rides with us. are there any rides I can't take it on? Important stuff(money/tix/camera) will be in a small purse I plan to carry. I assume I can take that anywhere.

4) Do you ever leave anything in your stroller?

Any other advice or tips appreciated!

No problem. Just mark it clearly so nobody mistakes it for theirs.

Must leave it outside any buildings. Has to be folded on trams and trains, buses, and small boats.

Just leave it in the stroller. As long as nobody mistakes your stroller it will be fine. I would put it in a clear extra large ziplock though. Better for rain and easy to pull out for folding stroller.

(Sorry for bold, rushed for time but wanted to answer.)

4) Do you ever leave anything in your stroller?[/QUOTE]

We take two bags - a small backpack that I carry on rides with my cash, cameras, etc and then a bigger one with change of clothes, diapers, etc that I leave in the stroller basket. I didn't have any problems leaving it in the stroller. I think that I took my small backpack on everything we rode except maybe the roller coasters, I might have left it with my parents then....

I see your questions have already been answered, but I just wanted to add that we always park our stroller in the big parking section of Fantasy Land (right before you get to It's a Small World) and leave it there for most of the Fantasy Land rides.

You will enjoy being able to roll your strollers right on the monorail (if you have bigger strollers and it's a pain to fold them....). Also, the big boats are nice because you can roll the strollers right on them as well. This comes in handy (for us) at night when our girls are tired and dozing off. It's nice to let them rest in the stroller and not have to wake them up to fold up the stroller.

We normally take our backpack right on all the rides. I put all the "important" stuff like camera, money purse, etc., right in the backpack so we only have one thing to carry and it's a backpack, so really we have nothing to carry! Anything bulky like extra clothes, sweatshirts, etc., stay in our stroller.

Have fun!

We always leave our stroller parked the whole time we are in Fantasyland since everything is so close together ride wise. We have never had a problem. We never leave anything of value in our stroller.

I also wanted to add that at just about all the parks if there is a central location in an area, we would just park it for a couple of hours. For example, at Epcot, we just park it outside The Land and then go into the Living Sea, The Land, and Imagination. Also, at the MK, you can usually find a spot to leave it in all the "lands" and come back when you are ready to move on. Surprisingly, we end up not using our stroller as much as you would think, but you still want to have it. For this reason, on our upcoming trip we are only bringing one single stroller for our 3 year old DD and 8 month old DS. She hardly sits in it and he likes his front carrier. So, when DD is tired she can go in it and DS will be in the carrier. When DD wants to walk then DS will be in the stroller. We just don't want to try and fit our double stroller in the car when half the time neither will be in it. We may have tired backs by the end of the trip but it will be better than pushing our "bus" of a stroller all over in the Christmas crowds!

Also, we never leave any valuables in the stroller. Take all cameras, wallets, etc. We leave our coats and extra clothes and usually have merchandise sent back to our resort. Just use common sense and you will be fine!

Just one more bit of advise. Bring along a large trash bag or rain cover for your stroller and cover it if you are going to be parked for awhile outside. You don't want to come out of an attraction to find that it has rained and your stroller is soaked!!!

Thanks for all the advice! I am feeling good about leaving the strollers for extended periods now. I really struggled with whether or not to bring or to rent or just one. But I think having 2 as long as I am able to leave them a bit is the best.

Someone said no buildings....can the strollers be bought into stores in the park? How about DTD?

Great tip on covering them! My DH is gona think I'm nuts but better then risking a soaked stroller!

Yes you can take them into the shops and use them at DTD. Since you are going in December you probably wont have to worry too much about the rain. We went in Nov. and Dec. the last two years and it didnt rain on either trip. Now in the summer it seems like it rains everyday!!
