A Sore subject

If you post this as a question to US DISers I'm sure they'll tell you about some Vaseline type cream they use :sunny: .

I've looked into it before and found it seemed to be sold at their outdoor stores.

I can't, for the life of me, remember it's name - sorry :confused3

Just done a search on here and found it:

http://www.bodyglide.com/

I was worried about this too, so last trip I took 2 things which both worked

1. magitalc which is a liquid baby talc - worked ok, but did tend to wear off.

2. bodyglide - worked brilliantly on thighs, feet anything really! I got a factor 25 one too so it kept my lily white skin from burning too

I bought it from an online running shop called wiggle and I use it all the time now at the gym. It seemed quite expensive about £12 I think, but theres loads left and not much really to enjoy your holiday more!

Im a big girlie and never wear skirts or shorts for the rubbing problems, if I do wear a skirt in the summer in the UK i always cut off old tights and wear these under them, but whenever we go to Orlando, I wear my cropped trousers, I find that Fasion World do some nice light weight t-shirt material ones which are great and I also have a pair of linen ones too.

Hope you manage to find something that works for you :)

I must admit that i had this problem last year.I did learn and took a small tub of talc with me round the park's.I think johnson &johnson do a really small tub for around £1 that fits easily into a pocket or bag .

:rockband: I must admit, even with all the creams mentioned, I still beleive it would be a good idea to wear cropped pants aswell!

Thanks everyone for all the advice
I can see i will be going with armfuls of lotions and potions this trip, there may even be a few moles feeling a little chilly :rotfl:

I use Savlon cream, it treats any chaffing and seems to prevent more. I never go on holiday without a tube.

Tony,

Try a product called "Body Glide"... you can find it in most cycling shops here in the U.S.

Trust me... I am a big guy, and I can commonly be found wearing a kilt... this product is a Godsend in the summer.

Love the website name of wiggle :rotfl:

Tony you should be all set for hard core sporting activity you realize :teeth:

Maybe a possibility is a quality walking pant. They are often built with issues with this in mind when seams are sown. Maybe a browse round you local store will help then try and find them in an online retailer.

Thanks folks I've visited the wiggle site and I will not be going on holiday empty handed :goodvibes

It won't prevent the problem occurring in the first place but, if you do get chaffed, good old fashioned zinc and castor oil cream works a treat in clearing it up if applied and left on overnight (think babies' nappy rash ;) ).

Anything like Bodyglide made for athletes in hot climates should be as good as you'll get for preventing the problem.
