You got a great shot at Mission Space! Nice job!

And for some reason I just love Shawn's shot of the monorail, too!

I was laughing when you were telling the story about Emily and her lanyard! I would've been hopping from foot to foot!

Kathy

Wow! Beautiful family! Love the shark pics. That's too bad about the mean dad!!
Thanks Colt! :goodvibes

Great trip report, and wonderful photos.

Thanks Lisa! Glad to have you reading! :goodvibes

Glad the Space shuttle finally launched :goodvibes Your Epcot day is off to a great start. No rope drop today huh? :rolleyes1 I love all the Epcot pics you posted, awesome! Glad the girls liked MS. I have never been on it. :rotfl2:About the dad trying to get his kids photo with Bruce. Would have loved it if you took a picture. WTH is with some people?
Nope - no rope drop! I figured since we had been out late the two nights prior, I would be pushing it to get them up and going that morning too early! Oh...who am I kidding....I would be pushing it to get SHAWN up and going that morning! :lmao:

Nichole - you should really do Mission Space - it's a lot of fun! The first time I ever went on it was with Monica and Michelle on our girls trip (Peer pressure...ha) and it's really a lot of fun! What makes you nervous about it?

That dad needed someone to lay on top of him and squish him....maybe all the rest of us parents should have tackled him and done that together!

WOW! So amazing that they got to watch the Space Launch. What a great moment with Dad and Son!

I am so impressed that you guys rode Mission Space!! I am too chicken, even for the green side! Katie is a trooper (unlike this Katie ;))

What a RUDE Dad at Bruce!!! And to sit on top of him?? Just wrong. I am so upset that we too ran into a few horrible Dad/Mom moments. You actually made me remember one that I did not post about. We were on MAIN STREET and a Dad yelling loudly in Italian was walking down the street SLAPPING HIS LITTLE GIRL IN THE FACE. She was all dressed up from BBB and they were storming out of the park. Oh my goodness. I was in tears and my hubby reminded me that not everyone lives like we do. SO sad though!

I see that the girls fit nicely into the rented stroller :woohoo: I was worried that Abby would not fit, but it looks like she and Aiden will be just fine!

Can't wait to read about the rest of your Epcot day!!!
Katie - the green side is not bad at all! You should try it! Have you been on Star Tours at DHS? It's WAY better than that - Star Tours makes me feel a little bit queasy at times but MS doesn't have that effect on me at all! Green=good!

What a horrible thing to have witnessed for you at the most magical place on earth! I still haven't had anything as bad as the time I saw a father scream cuss words at his 2 year old daughter in the parking lot of the Contemporary. She was crying (that kind of whimpered, tired sounding cry) and she looked exhausted and he told her to shut the ***k up and he was right in her face - like nose to nose practically! And Loud! Of couse that didn't make her stop crying it made her cry even worse and he walked away. I walked up to her and her brothers and offered them some Mickey stickers that I had in the car and that seemed to cheer her up. I couldn't believe the mother though - she was just standing there letting him talk to her baby like that! He would not have been that lucky if I had been his wife. She was just standing there letting him verbally abuse her. It broke my heart.

The girls fit fine in the stroller. Emily was a little tall, but it didn't seem to bother her at all and we were still able to close the canopy over top her head if she wanted the sun out of her eyes.

PS: How were the strollers getting on and off the bus?
Honestly, I don't know. We didn't use the buses at all this trip. We drove to AK and DHS and we took the monorail on our Epcot and MK days. But the stroller is a very easy one to fold. You just pull up on these straps that are in the seats and it folds down very easily. We just used a big ziploc bag for storing stuff under the stroller so that when we needed to get the stuff out to fold it and put it in the car, it was all right in one spot. :thumbsup2

How cool to see the shuttle launch! I'm glad they were able to do that!

Your kids are braver than I! I would have walked with Shawn to get the fastpasses! My boys love MS, but I just can't get myself to try it. It's just not worth being nauseous the rest of the day.

Bad, bad Dad.....UGH!! :sad2: I feel for the poor boy who had to endure that humiliation.
Awww....I think you could do Mission Space, Missy. It's really not bad at all, I don't think. I would never do the orange side though - especially not after seeing how it affected Shawn. :rolleyes1

I'm glad that Shawn and Michael's persistence paid off and they got to see the shuttle.

Yay for your girls being so brave! We've yet to ride MS... either side! :rolleyes1

Boo for mean dad.

I think that your friends got caught up in Saints mania and went to the MK! :rotfl:
You should try it out next time, Nicole! It's a fun ride. Did you have your non-Disney weekend yet? :confused3

Thanks Kathy! I was pretty proud of myself for taking a semi-decent picture at MS!!

I love that monorail shot as well! I can just hear it whisking on by right now! :cloud9:

After a few minutes of waiting, wrapped in a blanket, cameras in hand, huddled out on Sunset Point at the Poly in 38 degree temperatures (but with quite a few other people), the shuttle lifted off and they saw the red fire trail and were able to tell when the rocket boosters detached. I'm so glad Michael was able to see this - I don't know if he understood the magnitude of it right then, but sadly, so many people growing up right now will no longer have the opportunity to see ROCKET SHIPS....with people on board .....LAUNCHED INTO SPACE!!!!

That's pretty dang amazing!!

Well said Sara! I'm so glad the boys got to see this. We saw it once while at WDW and it was just amazing.

What a cool shot!

Hey! I saw you guys getting this picture taken while we were entering the park. Was that the only time I'd see you that day? :rolleyes1

Uh, did you not want to tell Nichole that we got stranded on that ride? :rotfl:

Yay, they saw the shuttle launch! Great MS pic. That Dad was way crazy! I remember your story about the little girl-so sad. Glad you were having a fun day.

Hey Sara...so glad your guys finally got to see the shuttle!!!:banana::banana:

The photo looks amazing, especially with the Contemporary in the picture!;) I would love to see the video!

I also got to witness a launch from Disney. Mine was a daytime launch, which DD and I watched from Epcot. It was such an awesome moment!:)

I hope you can move your trip up a day to see the one in May!

Love the photos your husband took of the GF - just beautiful!

And those are great photos of your family in front of Spaceship Earth!:goodvibes

Thanks Mary! They were thrilled to have been able to catch the launch! The little girl story is still the most sad thing I have EVER seen in Disney World. :sad1:

This weekend. :goodvibes

Woo-hoo!! :woohoo: Have fun! Are you going to try out the Characters In Flight balloon ride? Might be fun!

So glad the guys caught the launch.:thumbsup2 I've never seen a launch but one did fly over us while getting ready to land and we did see that.

I still haven't tried MS. After reading your account I might try the green side in the future. I did Star Tour once and it made me queasy as did Body Wars.

I'm one of the many that was trilled the Saints won! We were on Bourbon St in New Orleans for the start of the game. We made it back home by half time. I'm sure you saw lots of black and gold. We were there right after y'all for Mardi Gras and we saw it everywhere.

UGH! That father should be put in jail! Isn't it just horrible? I am so glad that you gave them the stickers. At least there are some nice adults still left out there.

Thanks so much for the stroller info! Sounds perfect for us. We are going to "force" Abby to walk more this year, but I wanted to have the "option" for her to get off her feet with the rate that we hit the parks. Notice that the words in quotes are there because she usually gets her way and I will be pushing BOTH of them around each and every park :rotfl: The quotes represent denial.

I agree the little girl story from your last TR was the worst :sad2:  makes me irritated. The reason I won't ride the green side of MS is because I hear it will be too claustrophobic in there and the spinning side is definitely out for me  . I'm too old for spinning. Though I ride the Tea Cups once a trip because it was one of my favorites when I was 6. I'm more of a roller coaster girl, the Disney ones anyway. Looking forward to seeing the video of the space shuttle. We probably could have saw it if I was willing to get up earlier that morning.

Yep - lots of who dat and black and gold that day! :goodvibes Well I can do Star Tours (sitting close to the front is less movement) but I remember doing Body Wars years ago and feeling AWFUL!!! It didn't help that it was like 95 degrees in there though! I think the AC was broken or something. It could have also been the subject matter - traveling through a human body....ick... :lmao:

I tell ya, Katie...I was a little nervous about going up to them since he was clearly so wacko! You just never know what some people are capable of! But he had walked a ways away in the parking lot so I figured I had a chance to try and cheer her up!

I totally understand about the "forcing" the kids to walk! Really, if I didn't have Katie, Emily would probably not have that option (and probably won't the next time) but I just know that Katie's little legs are going to tire out and if I'm going to get a stroller it might as well be a double, right? Michael has even sat in it on occasion! :lmao:

I've read "those threads" on here regarding making your kids walk as it tires them out more vs. having a stroller as an option...and the way I look at it is... it's better to have one and them not want it or need it, then to really need it and not have it. :thumbsup2

I would never touch the spinning side, Nichole! Blech. I don't feel claustrophobic on MS. Maybe it's because you can move your head around a little...it's not like your head is strapped in like during an MRI or something! The control panel does come in pretty close to your body, but I'm really fine with it and don't feel panicked at all. Sometimes, I do feel a little worried that the CMs are going to play a little joke on us and hit the orange button instead of the green though! (I don't think it's that easy...I'm just sayin...it crosses my mind!)

Mission Space darn neared killed me. :headache:

I'm such a bad DISer these days!!! What the heck is wrong w/ me?! Great update. You sure do run into some crazies at Disney! (I can top it though. I didn't tell you all about my "incident" w/ a dad at MK) Maybe if I ever update my TR! LOL!!

I'm so happy you get to do a Disney trip w/ your mom!! You two are going to have a blast!

Your kids are so cute. I forgot to tell you that Hunter decided he wants Michael to decide what kind of birthday party he's having. Not sure why, but I guess Hunter trusts Michael's opinion!

Maybe you had too many whiskey sours beforehand, Colt??;)

Oh man, I want to hear about this incident!! :scared1:

Hunter is so funny! Maybe the boys should plan a birthday party at Disney together! Christmas time, perhaps? That's right in between their birthdays! It would be a lot more fun than Bakugans (which is what Michael will suggest, don't you know?).

I'm looking forward to the trip with Mom!! It should be fun! Of course I have a ton of classes I will be taking which is kind of a bummer...but hey...it gets me back, right?

My DH loves it. We have picture of him and DD on the ride.
LOL! I tried taking some pics of the girls on it the next time we rode it! Kind of hard to do, but I managed to get a couple!

Sara

Hmmm....might have to think about that! But I would feel sorry for the poor soul sitting next to me - I'm a screamer! Usually I save that all for family members! maybe I can convince my Mom to ride it....I mean, her 6 year old granddaughter did fine!!:lmao:

Sara

:rotfl: So am I!

How awesome for your guys to finally get to see the launch! It most definitely is something they will remember forever.
