Hey everyone, i'm back
I didn't want to do a full trip report so I thought i'd list the highlights and let you know how much of a blast both DBF and I had
The night before:
We stayed in the Raddison Blu at Manchester Airport and I must say it was a very nice hotel. The bed was very comfy and a good size. We had a view of the front of the airport and spent a bit of time watching the cars go by happy with the fact we were inside while it was raining
The pool was also an ok size to swim a few lengths and get into the holiday mood.
The Flights:
We flew on Virgin's A330-300 Airbus and I have to say they were in my opinion a lot better than the older Jumbos on the later flights. I felt like I had a lot more leg room and our choice of seats 63 A&C were great as they were at the back of the plane when the seating configuration changed from 2-4-2 to 2-3-2 so next to us was a lot of space to stand up and stretch. This was because this was the side of the location of the 'missing' seat. Also the food was great for plane food with 3 meal choices there and back. Plus very helpful staff. The only negative of the flight was due to a passenger smoking in the toilets in the middle of the night on the way back. Understandably the cabin crew had to make an announcement warning that if smoking was suspected again that the police would meet the aircraft on landing
Luckily I think they got the message after that and we could all sleep for the rest of the night
The hotel:
We stayed at POFQ and to sum it up: WOW!!! I am definitely an onsite convert. I loved the river taxi, the room, the staff and the size of the resort. We were in room 5239 facing the courtyard and it was very peaceful and a great location. The pool was also great, a fab design for kids and adults alike
The parks:
Very busy, but what can you expect its July!! Made rope drop nearly every day apart from the last couple of days far too tired at that point! Went to all the parks, both water parks and Disney Quest. Loved Epcot, especially on my birthday when we managed from arriving at 8.30am to getting on a bus back to the resort after 10pm... a very long day!!
The shuttle:
We managed to see a glace of the Space Shuttle on the 8th of July from Blizzard Beach as they made an announcement to look towards the main entrance and there it was in the distance
And the bad:
Rainforest Café I have wanted to eat here since I first visited WDW and I was disappointed. The food was not very good in my opinion. I was a little disheartened as it was also one of our first meals but the rest were good especially Le Cellier yum!
The worst part of the holiday was the uncertainty before we even set off. I must admit next year I am taking out the biggest 'all singing all dancing' insurance money can buy!! At least then I might get there I can hope.
And finally leaving and knowing it is going to be a while until I make it back. Although next year will not involve WDW I am hoping for it to involve a little Disneyland. We will soon start planning our 3 month adventure for next year so I will be around to look for ideas, experiences and most of all, looking to plan another WDW trip for the future.
Hope you all enjoy reading my short but sweet report
