A slightly different stroller question...

We went to WDW last year and got a stroller for DD everytime we were in a park for more than a couple of hours. This was a month after she turned 4. She had not been in a stroller for at least 8 months before that and has not been in one since. Next year we are going a month after she turns 6. I know that she won't NEED a stroller but it was a very convenient way to carry the backpack, etc. So my question is, do we rent a stroller or severly downsize the bag? Last year we carried cameras, water bottles, wipes, underwear changes for both kids, ziploc bags, sunscreen, anything we bought, etc...

If you are going to be in the park all day I would rent one, children still get tired even at age 6. The last time I rented one was at age 8 for my son.

I would downsize the bag. it is incredibly freeing to not have to deal with a stroller! get off the ride and head straight to the next no retrieving the stroller no trying to manuaver in crowds and you will be surprised how little you really need to lug around. My son was 5 the last time and we didn't bring a stroller nor did we rent one- never even thought of it actually. He did fine and we go from opening till closing and it was Easter so quite a few midnight days.

I bring a stroller for my 6 year old. She does OK during the day, but is wiped out at night. The stroller is the only reason I get to see fireworks.

I think it depends on your touring style. Do you like to spend alot of time at the parks? If so, then stroller is the way to go. If she isn't tired, she can walk and the backpack can ride. If she is, then she has a place to go.
