A slight panic over seat allocations

Hi. I've just paid off our holiday and I've now been able to access our booking on the VA website (using ref number from Complete Orlando). Now, when we booked CO told us that our seat numbers were 33DEFG - brilliant seats right up front. Now I know that seats are not promised, but when I checked today we've been moved to 44 EFG and 44 H which is across the aisle (interesting they've allocated this seat to our DS13). Do they class this as sitting together? We really want to sit together (as in together, together!) Our options today are a row of 4 very near the back or 2x2s right at the very back.

What's the best thing to do?

When you check-in online, will I only see the same options for seats as I can see now, or do more open up?

The VA website says online check-in for 24-2, is this 22 hours before (so 1pm) or 26 hours before (as in 9am)?!!!

Also, there does not seem to be a child's option available on the food selection - what do I do about this?

I'm becoming slightly more stressed this time around...

Thank you for any help you can give me. I almost wish you didn't know where you are sat before you get there as this is really worrying me!

keep checking the seat plan,as people go on and change their seating. also 40% of the seats are held back til 24 hrs before you fly so you should have a better chance of getting the seats you want.

This means that check-in is open from 24 hours before your flight time till 2 hours before your flight time.

Also unfortunately having 3 people sitting one side of the aisle and 1 person the other side does count as sitting together in VA speak.

:rotfl2:Ha ha - thanks for this.... I was reading it as 24 minus 2, not 24 to 2 hours!!! OK!!!! Thanks.

sitting across the isle is counted as sitting together. As long as you check in on line you should be able to amend that. They tend to keep a few seats back that you won't see on the seat plan. It not then I would personal do the 2x2 seats at the back of the plane you get a bit more space back there but obviously you leave the plan last!:confused3

I have the same worries we have our seats booked for our flight and we are happy with them,(we understand they could move us) we also may be moved as we have 2 disabled passengers traveling one with AS the other mobility,so we have been told that aslong as nobody has needs greater then our we should get the bulkhead window seats" Ds with AS has to be next to a window else he cant settle"

The problem now is we may not get that holiday due to Dh leave being cancelled and so due to most people already having booked their seats on the plane for the dates we might be travelling now we know seating together in seats we know our son will be happy with may not happen!
It all adds to the stress of this situation,so we will have to do Twilight check in as early as possible or the on-line check in at the 24 hours and just hope they do hold quite a few seats back so we get the seats that are either window seat in a 2,2,2 or window seats in a 3,3, configuration depending on plane.

We did get seat numbers when we booked so I thought, that was that - due to do online check in in a couple of days with Virgin to Orlando from Manchester- could seat numbers change at that point? We didnt pay extra for seat ressies.

Last year we flew LHR-LAX (via a British Midland codeshare but it was aVirgin flight) which was fine on the way out but on the way back when we tried to check in online, it wouldnt let us - we soon found out why, when we arrived at check in we could either pay for seats together (2 of us - there are 3 in our party) or be split up - we were split up.

I'm really sorry to hear about this! What a headache for you; I really hope it works out for you!

As far as I understand it, they can move your seats around right until you check in!

I've logged on tonight and booked a row of 4 in the back of the plane.... fingers crossed something else will open up either before we go or duing checkin.

Does anybody know if you can select extra leg room seats when you do on line check in, or do you have to actually be at the airport to do this?

Thanks,
