Skyauction inventory comes from RCI inventory. Here is what I can see for that weekend for 2 bedrooms through RCI Extra Vacations priced at $495.00:

Westgate
Bryan's Spanish Cove
Silver Lake
Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Seaworld
Sunterra Polynesian Isle
Orbit One Villas
Hilton Grand Vacation Club on I Drive
Sunterra Resorts Grand Beach

Maybe RCI will release more inventory to Skyauction. You never know!

did you see my post - you can get Westgate for $29 - probably more for a 2-bedroom.

When we called they offered us Westgate Palace for 29 dollars but Westgate Lakes and Villas are 49 dollars for 2 bedroom. We decided to do the Palace since the last leg of our vacation would be at Universal. 49 dollars for their 2 bedroom is still a good price.

I went last fall and won a ready set go auction for $35. My total then came to $245 for the week. I was able to watch the availability later and choose my resort. I got Cypress Pointe 3BR 3B . It was newly remodled and I thought nicer than when we stayed at the Vistana earlier in the year. I have watched some of the auctions that have just ended and think Friday evening the Ready Set Go sell a little cheaper than earlier in the week.
Good Luck

thanks brownhair girl i keep checking ready set go and nothing comes up for my week i know i still plenty of time (3 months) but i wish i had my room plans set in stone

OP, I understand how you feel. We're going in January also and for awhile our dates were available in the "Winter Special" but I kept getting outbid and now the dates I need are gone. For now I'm just going to sit tight and hope for something to come up at the last minute. I figure the worst case scenario is that we rent a condo from a private owner and try to negotiate a good deal. It's not like January is peak season or anything, I know we'll find a place to stay.

Dumb question--I went to SkyAuction and can't find any mention of "Ready, Set, Go" auctions. Where should I be looking (or is it something not available to the general public)?

I can appreciate your concern about so few options listed for the weeks that you are traveling and your need to have more solid plans. However, after having watched Skyauction for the last 18 months I myself would have no concerns about something nice becoming available. If you look at the ready set go options for the next six weeks you will see there are three pages. This seems to be very standard. Like I mentioned I was thrilled when we walked into the villa at Cypress Pointe it was newly remodled and absolutely wonderful. I have also seen where other people have gotten this resort reasonably priced on Hotelkingdom.com. I checked it out the other day and it might be a decent second option if you need something more final. Like I mentioned, I liked Cypress Pointe better than the Vistana. That said, I also should say when we stayed at the Vistana we were in the Lakes section and felt completely satisfied.

Kfeuer,
If you go to the top of the Skyauction home page there are options. If you click on search... and then type in ready it will bring up the ready set go auctions that are current. Like I mentioned, from what I've seen the ones that end Friday and Saturday evening go for less than others.

Good Luck
Sue

Disneydood,

Your post cracked me up. I have been looking at the same auctions (we are leaving Jan. 27th) and have also thought the prices were too high.

I wonder if we have bid against each other? No matter since I don't want to spend that much either.

Good luck,
Jeannine

lol madscrapper well then stop doing that i have now changed my plans and i am going on the 27 for 9 days 8 nights so i have been bidding on the westgate since you can take 8 days and i dont wanna change hotels once i am down there and i know i could get it cheaper by doing the timeshare thing but i dont wanna be bothered with the sharks i have heard at westgate they are tough on you

you might still want to think about winning a week long auction & then just paying for an additional night at which ever resort you stay at. I know Cypress Pointe & Celebration World Resort allow you to stay for additional nights (at regular rack rates) but if you win a week stay auction for say $50-100 + the $195 +$15 & then pay for an extra night you might even come out cheaper than paying the $32 fee per night + your winning bid + any upcharges they may have for the dates you are going.

either way, have fun!!

oh, one more thing, as far as availability, I watched skyauction for a couple months for my 4th of July stay & bid on a few here & there not going higher than I was willing to pay. I finally won an auction on June 28th for check in on July 1st to stay an entire week, the busy week of the July 4th holiday. I feel pretty confident you will get something in the next 3 months.
