A Sizzling Hot Summer in WDW TR June/July 2025

Hello!

Welcome to my trip report!

Basic Info:

We are DVC owners at AKL and Aulani we own between my husband, me and my parents.

My mom, my son and me were the only ones on this summer trip.

We stayed at OKW from June 21- July 5th.

We have the Sorcerer Pass.

Here we are:


My mom in their 60s on the right... she loves being grandma going doing stuff with my son.

I am the Disney obsessed, classic disney mom.. now in my 40s... wow I am old now. Lol.

My son is 8years old and loves dinosaur, star wars, and marvel. He also qualified for das under the new system.

I will be updating this as I go. I love putting in lots of pics of my trips!

Day 1:
Travel Day!

This will be the longest wdw trip we have ever done! Taking advantage of our first and last time in a long time that we will have an AP (was a 40th birthday present). Soo excited! My mom is a bit worry about the heat. My dad did not want to come during the summer cause of the heat and my husband could not take any more time off of work. This will be our first time going to disney during the summer...

We go to United lounge in Denver and grab some breakfast.
We are using points to fly. We fly economy plus on United out of Denver. My mom is a 1st class gal soo she sits up front.


Nothing special on the trip.
We land at the airport
and picked up our rental car. I am using points again... we have presidential circle in Hertz. We add my mom on as a 2nd driver. They said we could pick any car in presidential circle... one slight problem... none of them was a small to mid size suv that we paid for... soo walked back and had a conversation with them. They found an equinox for us. Soo important since there was no way we were going to fit all of our luggage in a sedan. Then we drove to OKW.
While driving the app showed our room was ready! Yeah! Only 2pm and already ready.
We pull in and it took a while to find a spot. We have a studio in building 4 near hospitality. We have just one night here. Carrying all of our luggage up to the 2nd floor is a but of a workout, lol.
It is soo hot we work up a sweat. My mom is questioning life choices.

But the room is soo nice.

I wish more resorts offered 2 queen bed options.

I love the view and balcony.



The kitchenette is such a nice size.


And a great bathroom.



After all the sweat, we die and just embrace the air conditioning. Lol.

After a bit we head to the main resort. Such an easy walk.

We check out the shop I am soo eyeing these ears and bags... but we are trying not to spend soo much money....


Next I check out the activities.

They have some fun ones.
And check out the times for the boat that goes to disney springs.

This is our first time here soo trying to get the lay of the land.
Next we head to the quick service.

I get a refillable mug to use for the trip.
And key lime pie dole whip!
This things is amazing!!!

My mom gets us drinks next door.... we may go to this bar a lot




As a history teacher I also love the prohibition name too.

As Coloradans... we do not do well in the humidity heat... soo the whole trip is working around it. U will definitely get some tips.

Next we head on to the disney springs boat.
We have a reservation tonight a Raglan Road. It has been a long time since we have been there like pre covid and my son has never seen them. Soo thought perfect time.

We get on to our boat. I loove these boats. We stay at AKL a lot since we are owners and getting to disney springs is the longest trip. This is soo much better and the music is great too... all Jimmy buffet type of music.

We walk with speed to the restaurant... we are cutting it close and check in. My mom called it a death march... lol. She is a little dramatic but we love her.
We are all really hot but good news Raglan Road has good AC.
I request main room spot and said I am okay waiting for it. Soo we wait a bit but not to long and get it. The shop also has good ac while u wait.


We get some drinks. We go with drinks that are refreshing since we are still recovering from the "death march".

So some nice ciders. We loved them. They heavy beers would not have been good.
Sadly the bread is no longer included so now have to order it but still yummy and worth it. Esp with that dip.

My son gets the kids burger.

Both mom and me get fish and chips... we go with the classic.

We loved it. Very yummy.

The dancing starts. My son is loving it. He thought it was soo cool.

My mom got a drink for dessert.

My son got ice-cream.


And I got the best bread pudding!

I love their bread pudding here.

Overall the restruant is a little more on the expensive side but if u use girl math... u are really paying for a dinner and a show so I think it is a good value. No discounts sadly available when we went.

Next we head back to the boat... the line to the Lego store looks long soo we walk past it. We are just soo full we want to get back to the room.
My son does like the mini riveria resort at dvc stand. My son loves miniatures of anything. Lol.


It is super bueatiful.




And we wait in the boat line.


And head back to the resort. Yeah boats!

We walk back to our room and my son sees a table with jenga on it. My son has fun playing with CM. I love these little touches.


And he gets stickers!

Next I decide to do something silly... something I would only do as an AP... hop on the bus to go to Epcot just to get a popcorn bucket!

I head to the nearest popcorn stand in Epcot near the shop and pick up this popcorn bucket! It even lights up too!

I decided walt needed some popcorn bucket pics.


And I needed to ride Space ship earth with the popcorn bucket. Easy walk on.

And head to the bus. It is getting dark enough while I was waiting for the bus u can see how it lights up!


I had a fun time just dropping by Epcot... this must be how locals feel like.

Day 2
We pack up!! We never really unpacked. But we are only staying in the studio for one night. We will be moving to 1 bedroom in OKW and stay there the rest of the time. Why did we do this? So we can do a full free day at a water park! We have soo much luggage. We call bell service to come grab it so it will be stored when we go to Typhoon Lagoon and are in between rooms.


They were soo quick.
We then walk to our breakfast reservation... it is such a "long" walk.


Like 2 mins too Olivia's.



We gave to wait for it to open. We have it right when it opens. My son has fun playing with boat stuff.

Mom is not drinking since we are driving to Typhoon Lagoon. But I am drinking!


The restaurant is soo cute. Our waitress is really nice.
My son gets the iconic mickey waffles.

I got bananas bread French toast! Sooo good!!

My mom got the crab cake eggs benedict... she did not like it at all... the crab cakes were apparently really fishy and bad tasting... it was so bad not sure if I will be able to convince her to come back... I mention many other entrees are good. But don't get the crab cakes eggs benedict here.


Well after a great breakfast for two of us...
I peak over at the pool.



Looks cute. We grab our Waterpark stuff from the room and head out. Typhoon Lagoon is right next door too OKW. So easy to drive over.
It opens at 10 am and we hit it right when it opened up. Soo we miss the mad rush to the seats.

We did something special for this we rented umbrella chairs. So for about 100 u get your own saved private umbrella and 2 loungers and 2 chairs for 4 people. Here is the split off.

And you check in here.


You get a little wrist band and they show you were it is at. If u book a full cabana they walk u down too it. Your on your own finding it with beach umbrella. Lol.

We are next to the wave pool... now this person, me, who takes pics of everything... some how did not take a picture of our set up... bah.. I always planned to and then just kept squirreling and forgot... bah... sorry.
We have mix feelings on this rental. We liked the price and the shade but damn do we hate the sand. The sand gets everywhere and there is no easy way to wash it off, it is a hike to get to it. And the sand was hot... I wish we could rent these in spot without sand... if we do this again we will just save for the cabanas since they do not have sand. The cabanas were super expensive though and it seemed like just a lot for the 3 of us... the umbrella area was still roped off and shade is hard to get in Typhoon lagoon so it was nice to have but damn are we just not sand people... the sand killed it for us.

We head over to the big ride miss adventure falls before my mom is done. We need three people for this ride.



We all liked this ride.
My mom did her one water ride and now is going to relax at the lounger.
My son and I go on Crusher Gusher and choose the shortest line. Then my son has fun swimming in the pool at the bottom of the slides.

We then go back to mom and we have fun with the shark cages.

Next we go the wave pool. This is why we choose this over Blizzard Beach. My son is all about the waves pools. Man this wave is huge! The videos and pics do not do it justice. I loove this wave pool.










We spent for ever in here. They also do small waves too for those who want tamer waves. We had soo much fun.

(We went to water country usa wave pool a week ago... and my son kept saying he wish it was typhoon lagoon and now just wants to come back here and no other wave pool will due now. Lol. I have created a wave monster.)

They also have a kid area to the side where waves are not big and have slides. My son had fun there too.

Mom then joins us for the lazy river.
My mom loves the lounger water tube. Man is this a big lazy river!
We loved it but there is no escaping getting wet... there is a big waterfall that u cannot escape but it is really hot.


Next lunch time. I grab food for me and my son. My mom said she will grab food after me. We do have snacks and pb sandwiches for my son. I moblie order kids meal chicken tenders cause kids meals are such a good deal. Then I wait in line for this yummy drink/dessert. Dole whip starberry mai tai.



I looove this!! Soo worth the line. Wish I could moblie order this too.
I take my chicken tenders over.
And eat at our little table at our umbrella. My son is happy eating his snacks over there. And my mom is not feeling anything and just wants to eat my food... she is getting grumpy cause the sand is every where.. and my son is having a small melt down about the sand getting everywhere too. The two of them are a pair... u can tell we are not beach people.

We do the wave pool to stop the meltdown and do the slide in the wave pool after lunch.
