A Sister & Brother Return! The Trip Report! Updated 10/31--Page 23!

Woohoo, you started! Lovin' it already. I love Universal; I have so many good memories from there and we always have just as good of a time as we have at Disney. Margaritaville's my favorite restaurant too! Sorry you didn't like Universal 360. I loved it back in 2006 and thought it was one of the collest fireworks shows I've seen. I think it's tied with Illuminations for me. How was the Hard Rock? We've only ever visited but it was amazing; it must be awesome to get to stay!

I had to laugh at David's epic fail :lmao: Does he by any chance watch Attack of the Show on G4?

I do occasionally, but I pay attention to X-Play and Cheat! more. "Epic Fail" is just a typical gaming term, and I'm a HUUUUUUUUGE gamer. As for HRH, it's tied with AKL for my favorite resort. But that may be mainly because I love rock music.

Hey everyone, this is David. Thanks for all the comments on my....comments... This is my first time actually ON the forums, even though I registered a while ago. I'll keep throwing in some comments to entertain you guys lol (and don't worry, I saved the best ones for Disney).

:wave2: David!!!! Nice to see you posting! And BTW KC says HI too...and do you have "mass Effect" for xbox360? (he recently bought it and loves it)

That's so funny. My bro loves video games and is always watching Attack of the Show and X-Play, and they always have those Epic Fail segments  Hard Rock was awesome when we visited! I love rock music too. Who are your fav bands?

Now I'm hungry and I want a magarita! I love David's thoughts about the fireworks. :lmao: Very eloquent!

Yea he sure has a way i've putting things!! I should have had a margarita while I was there!

popcorn::
I can't wait for more of David's thoughts!
Awesome TR!!!

-nat

Thanks :) He starts school on Monday (everyone now: awwwww) but he should be popping in from time to time

I like David's review of Universal 360.

Haha, did you feel the same way?

I've read and I am all caught up! What a great start to your trip! HRH does look gorgeous! I am with Michelle -- I am hungry and in the mood for a drink! :thumbsup2

Yeah the food was actually pretty good! Margaritas for all!

sounds like a great first day. great pics. that drink looked delicious.

Thanks :) The drink was pretty good, it was sort of like Malibu Bay Breeze but they didnt have malibu so they subbed it with something I forgot what

Hey guys. It was great to meet you both and I am looking forward to reading all the details. The first days sounds great and I love the "davids thoughts" sections. Great idea! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Cant wait to hear all your details as well!

I agree with Declan's Dad! I love "David's Thoughts" section!:cutie:

Well nice to know i'm so loved....hmph.

Juust kidding :)

Yum! I want a cheeseburger in paradise!

I love pickles too!

It was good according to him, and I love the crap out of pickles!

I just heard on the news that southern Florida had bad storms. I hope you guys didn't have any damage at your house.

I haven't heard anything yet, MeMom but thanks for looking out!

After reading the whole post (and enjoying it) my main thought was "Nicole sure loves mozzarella sticks". :lmao: I ahve issues, I know. Sounds like a great day tho! I def think having David's thoughts in there is awesome, what ever happened to his DIS name?

OMG i love the crap out of mozarella sticks. I could eat my way through a wall of Mozz Stix.

We are actually leaving in less than 2 weeks:banana:

HRH looks really nice!

And if I counted correctly, that's 3 times on Simpsons. I really can't wait to check out this ride here at Universal Hollywood.

Though that Margaritaville is a bit tempting! The shrimp looks delicious.

Simpsons was fun but it made me a little dizzy...HRH is really nice, if you are ever in Universal Orlando you should check it out! Lucky you get to leave in 2 weeks!!

When you go to sleep tonight I am going to punch you square in the nose.

I've seen AOTS sometimes its pretty entertaining. I love the whole "epic fail" slang term its just hilarious.....I heard they changed it from '06 to now--at least thats what they said on youtube, maybe it was better than...HRH kicks butt, more from that later on!

That's so funny. My bro loves video games and is always watching Attack of the Show and X-Play, and they always have those Epic Fail segments  Hard Rock was awesome when we visited! I love rock music too. Who are your fav bands?

I'm more of a classic rock guy, but I like Coheed and Cambria, Nickelback, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Coldplay, Boston (I love the crap out of that band), The Police, etc.

Hi Nicole! I was excited to see that you had started another trip report. :goodvibes

I love all the David's thoughts, very funny especially his epic fail comment. :rotfl:

Nice trippie so far. I haven't been to Universal since 2004. Maybe it's time for a quick trip. :thumbsup2

Stop stealing my "i love the crap out of.." line!

Universal is fun!

I can't wait to hear more!

Working on it now :)

YAY! I'm in :goodvibes

Oh yay! Welcome home!

One of the really cool things about the express pass you get for staying at HRH is the luxury of sleeping in, so thats what we did this morning, sort of. We got up and decided to eat breakfast at HRH's restaurant "The Kitchen" and as the name describes thats exactly what it looks like! Since the HRH theming is a rock star mansion, its really cool that it carries over to the restaurants!

They label the contents with CDS so cool!

Cool "childrens area"

So we took the boat to City Walk after that because we were on our way to my favorite Universal park, Islands of Adventure! At the dock we sat next to a family from our neck of the woods, Mahopac, NY! Turns out they have a friend that lived practically down the street from us! Everyone! *It's a small world afterall..*

Took this picture on city walk

IMG_4209.jpg

We entered the gates and it was CROWDED and it was HOT! Thankfully we had those Express passes but would it really matter this day??

I love how the Port of Entry is themed!

IMG_4211.jpg

We decided to go right towards Suess Landing instead of usually turning left and heading to Marvel.

I love this land!

IMG_4214.jpg

IMG_4219.jpg

We walked on to Cat in the Hat, I love the TM costumes!

IMG_4218.jpg

IMG_4217.jpg

We waited in a short line to meet the grinch, notice my "mean" face--or maybe I just missed the camera..

IMG_4221.jpg

The land next to that is The Lost Continent, which is going to be chopped up in a bit to make way for the wizarding world of harry potter! We saw some construction going on way cool!

IMG_4226.jpg

Since David doesn't do coasters, we skipped over a usual must-do (dueling dragons) but we went over to poseidons fury. A cute walking show with a funny tour guide. We both liked it and thought it was cute.

david_thought.png
The guide was really funny, when asked for his wishes he asked for an xbox 360 and for vista not to stink.

IMG_4225.jpg

We walked straight through to Jurassic Park, which is always so fun to walk under those arches and hear that classic John Williams theme music! We needed to escape the heat so we ducked into the discovery center which is a replica from the movie where you can see a raptor egg hatch (we were about a minute and a half late for this) and basically play around and discover.

Continued in next post...

Next up was the river adventure, which last time we were in Universal David skipped out on, but since conquering Splash Mountain and Space Mountain was feeling a wind of courage! We took a self portrait on the non-line (love those passes!)

IMG_4235.jpg

This ride is so so fun and we loved it, but we got stuck on it like 3 times, they were having some issues with it. At one point we got stuck for 10 minutes in our boat outside. Look out for the pictures after this and notice the sunburn

david_thought.png
The most interesting part of the ride was finding out that jurassic park uses hess gas! (we parked in front of the tank another itme we got stuck)

IMG_4237.jpg

We walked out of Jurassic Park and into the reason I was wearing a bathing suit! Toon Lagoon!!

IMG_4239.jpg

This might be my favorite land here, its just so well themed, colorful, fun and did I mention theres water EVERYWHERE? Exactly what we needed on this day! Since we were right there, we decided to go on Dudley Do Right--a poor-mans splash mountain, but nonetheless fun.

IMG_4240.jpg

The express line was so backed up it was about a 30 minute wait, but it was nothing compared to this: (100 minutes!)

IMG_4241.jpg

They recently updated the boats to add restraints which actually make the ride incredibly uncomfortable and difficult to get in and out of. But we got wet and you can't ask for more on this day!

david_thought.png
It was fun but I learned a very important lesson: Don't get water into contacts.

David had been looking forward to the next ride, Popeye, which is the rich-mans Kali River Rapids :rotfl: It's much longer, and unfortunately, just overall a better raft ride...we got soaked, which again is all you could ask for, but it wasn't enough for me! I needed to play some more!

IMG_4247.jpg

IMG_4250.jpg

I love toon lagoon! Even the ground and benches are themed! You are totally in a sunday comic!

Since we would be back the next day and the heat was getting to us, we decided to skip Marvel and head back around to Suess to eat at Circus Mcgurkus, which I love because the suess trolley goes through, and just like David demonstrates here, you can wave! I dont know, I find that to be a lot of fun!

david_thought.png
Or "Circus Magurkalurkus" as I would refer it to it for the rest of the trip.

IMG_4252.jpg

IMG_4254.jpg

IMG_4258.jpg

We grabbed dippin dots on the way out and headed for the boat! On the way, I took this picture of David where you can see the HRH in the background and how close it is to Universal which is to the left of the photo!

IMG_4260.jpg

IMG_4262.jpg

We relaxed for a bit but than decided to head down to the pool!

IMG_4266.jpg

this pool is AWESOME! First of all, if you go underwater music is playing, and the slide is awesome! I think its over 200ft! It definitely spoiled us.

When we walked down, a really cool DJ was there and there was a party going on at the pool. He was handing out plastic guitars and asking moms and dads to come up and form bands, it was all really really funny and a lot of fun to be a part of while you relaxed in the zero entry pool! So fun in fact, about an hour into it, I decided to go up and get my digital camera so I could record it and video tape!

I returned a few minutes later eager to get back to David in the pool and get some pictures and video! :woohoo:

And than it happened.

david_thought.png
Dun dun Dun!!

It?
The HRH pool is awesome.

I enjoyed IOA last time I went.
