And it's good that you and your bro aren't commando kind of people because there is so much to enjoy at AKL. We definitely did not take advantage of our surroundings enough when we were there.

I BOOKED A DISNEY CRUISE!!!!
Okay okay before you think i'm insane, it's not for me!! It's for my parents!! This has actually been in the works for a while but I didn't want to post because it wasn't 100%.....next June is my parents 25th anniversary and I wanted to get them on a cruise. I thought of all the cruise lines and skipped over Disney thinking they just wouldn't be into it. The more I thought about it, the more I thought of how it would be a nice idea for the boat to leave out of Port Canaveral so instead of driving my parents back and forth from either Miami or Ft Lauderdale, we could all drive together, David and I can stay in WDW, and they can go on whatever cruise I booked.
So I started looking into Royal Caribbean. Respectable company, and my grandparent's best friend whos a travel agent gave me a great rate on Monarch of the Seas, awesome!! Well upon further investigation I found out that this 4 night bahamas cruise was very small, and very old. For a little bit more money, they could be on a world class ship, a Disney ship.
I really thought about this hard because I was worried that without David and I there, it would sort of be like "whats the point?" plus, no casino, which Dad sort of likes. So I posted here on the DIS asking for suggestions. I got an overwhelming response from people my parents age stating how without kids it was hands down the best cruise they ever took and the Disney name just tells you the service is going to be remarkable. After a lot more of looking into it, I realized that this would be a great decision. I think all they want to do is get away for a few days and relax, and while they do this, David and I will be having some fun of our own! I'm not ready to book the room yet, but i'm thinking for my parents I may rent some BCV points for the 2 days before the cruise. Anyway, here's the t-shirt i'm designing for them!

Hi Nicole! I just found your PTR and haven't read everything but saw that you are staying at AKL. That is so cool!! We just got back a few weeks ago and stayed there for the first time-it is awesome!! It sounds like you have a great trip planned so far.
And wow, what a great present for your parents, a Disney Cruise!! I am jealous!

what a wonderful gesture for your parents! Btw, how do you pay for these trips, I mean, you are so young. You must work real hard! What do you do for a living, just being nosey, sorry....BTW, you sound like the 'perfect' daughter any mom would want!!! She must have done an excellent job raising you. Congratulations, and take it from another mom, you sound like you are a jewel ! Great NEW car also!!! How many hours driving are you from WDW? Lucky you!!!
