A Simple Guide to Making an Autograph Book

Can someone tell me about the texture of the photo flip book pages (like from Shutterfly)? Are they like photopaper? I am worried about smearing or pen just not writing well on them....

I have ordered books from Shutterfly, and their pages are somewhat glossy, but not nearly as much as photo paper. A sharpie should work just fine without smearing. :goodvibes

MusicMouse did you see the pictures i posted at the end of the last page?? What do you think?

They are still really cute, even without the borders. If you are really heartbroken about the way they turned out, though, get them reprinted (try a couple for test purposes first). Did you use any by Natalie? People seem to have less trouble with the formatting when getting those printed. :goodvibes

Hello There
do you happen to have a list of characters for Disneyland?

OK, ana carol, I put a thread up on the Disneyland chat board, and these characters have all been spotted recently at Disneyland:

Aladdin
Alice
Aurora
Belle
Bert
Brer Bear
Brer Fox
Brother Bear characters (they don't sign)
Buzz Lightyear
Captain Hook
Chip
Cinderella
Cruella De Vil
Dale
Donald
Dopey
Eeyore
Evil Queen (from Snow White)
Fairy Godmother
Frozone
Goofy
Jasmine
Jessie
Mad Hatter
Mary Poppins
Max
Mickey Mouse
Minnie Mouse
Mr. Incredible
Mrs. Incredible
Mulan
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Pluto
Queen of Hearts
Snow White
Stitch
Sully (he doesn't sign)
Terence
Tigger
Tinkerbell
Tweedle Dee
Tweedle Dum
White Rabbit
Winnie the Pooh
Woody

It's probably not complete, but it should give you a place to start (just add some generic pages at the end in case you run into someone unexpected). :goodvibes

Thank you so much :worship:
Now i have a place to start

Funny that Brother Bears dont sign, when we were in WDW in 2008, we met Kenai and he signed our autograph book

You know, I thought he signed autographs, too. Maybe the woman who posted that caught him on an "off" day? :confused3

At Disneyland you see the Brother Bears at a show. They would pose for pictures after the show but would not sign. Hope you have better luck and catch them away from the show.

Ok, so I sent my prints to Shutterfly to have them printed, I was so excited to get them back only to find out that they cut off most of the boarders!!
I had them printed in 4X6 and I did a preview on their page to make sure they would print right.
They dont look "bad" but I don't like them because I know what they are supposed to look like! My husband thinks I am being obsessive!!! But I don't wanna use them!!LOL

I had the exact same problem with Shutterfly with a magnet I ordered from them!!! I had designed it to fit the 2x3 area, and had even aligned it myself where it tells you to. And then it came off-center! I was very irritated. I had spent $5 on that magnet, and it wasn't even centered.

Can someone please help me? I'm following all the directions and it is not working. If I just copy and paste into Word, I get these little tiny pictures. When I try to make them 4x6, they get really fuzzy. I tried saving it as a picture and printing the picture. It looks fine as a 4x6 on the computer, but it prints fuzzy.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I've tried different DISigners but that didn't work. Any help would be great.

Nevermind. I just figured it out. I realized that I missed a step

I wanted to make 5x7 books this year, but I can't find any card stock precut to 5x7. I am afraid that if I use the 8.5x11 and cut them out they will look terrible. how do you keep them square and all the edges straight so that when you stack them in the book the book edges are pretty straight??

Some people have used blank 5x7 notecards to print onto, but I just printed them out onto regular-sized card stock and cut them down to size with a ruled paper trimmer. You can buy them at any craft store in the scrabooking section. You can also use the paper trimmer available at your local Kinkos or Business Office Supply store. (BTW, if you make your cards 4x6, you can fit two per page.) :goodvibes

You can buy a paper-cutter with a blade that slides along a straight-edge. That way, you just have to line up the sides and slide the blade, and it cuts. Much easier than scissors!

Quick Question..did you do your book in alphabetical order or did you put charachters that go together-together (like Cinderella with her step sisters)

I have a problem with the characters, on the last time we went to WDW the characters were signing on the back of the previous page. What do you suggest how to stop that??

Thanks

I put the characters in alphabetical order in the main part of the book, then I put in a dozen generic pages, and finally I put the characters for our character meals in groups at the end. It seemed to work quite well, and we never had problems finding anyone in the book. :goodvibes
