I LOVE SWA and today I have one more reason. My aunt (my mom's only living sibling) passed away very unexpectedly last night at the young age of 71 . We're here in Indiana and my mom and dad are in Florida for the winter. My parents are in their 80's and fly back and forth to Florida each year primarily on SWA because they LOVE their customer service (my dad needs assistance due to his inability to walk great distances). I am always their travel agent, so I took charge of trying to find bereavement flights. I was surprised that not many airlines have them any more, and those that did, had a lower price on a regular flight. Anyway, SWA was one of the airlines that did not have bereavement fares, but their regular flights were ~ $100 less/person than all the other airlines I checked. The SWA agent on the phone was very kind and compassionate, which was greatly appreciated at this stressful time. I got their flights booked tonight and they will arrive back in Indiana on Thursday. SWA, you'll always get my business!

I'm sorry about your loss :grouphug:

I'm glad southwest was able to help you in getting your parents back for the arrangements. They do have great customer service and its why we put up with the seating arrangements because we have always been treated so well.

dznyacct - I'm sure you know this since it sounds like you book your parent's SW flights regularly, but the Senior Fares can also be a good deal - especially for relatively last minute flights! I was able to add my Grandmother to our XMAS trip at a relatively late date for a Senior Fare that was about half of the next best price I could find!

My family and I just flew SWA out of Dulles for the first time with Southwest and I can say it was the first of many flights with them! We were able to do online check in from home, but when we checked out at 6 AM from CBR, the lady at the check out desk did it for me online and we still got section A. I did want to pass on some info for the "nervous flyer" such as myself. The wonderful male flight attendant told me on the way down that if I told the lady at check in I was a nervous flyer, they would pre board me, no questions asked. I was so relieved to hear that, but did not need it on the way back since we were able to board first. Just another feather in Soutwest's hat as far as I'm concerned. :cool1:
