A Shades of Green question (or 2)

Well, with the temps this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, about 60, I would say we are a little bit spoiled here too!

Although, what a great place to be, my DH has done lots of work-related travel down your way and one of our best friends is from New Braumfels (I always spell that wrong).total aside, I asked her father once if he could help me with the procedure for closing a pool, and he said in his best Texas drawl, "Well, no, little lady, I'm from Texas, no need to close a pool in Texas." I felt pretty dumb, like the time I wondered aloud in Antigua how the guy who lived in the mansion at the top of a mountain would be able to get there in an ice storm. Oh well.

If your family/friends are on the 11:05 Southwest from BWI to MCO, well, just tell them that we are the crazy party of 18 on the same flight.

Travel safely......see you in the World!

Too funny! They are on the same flight.

We are just 15 minutes north of New Braunfels. We've had some cold weather - not everyone keeps their pools open. We even have occasional ice and frost. I'm working on the Texas drawl. First thing my students notice... "a yankee teacher", but I love 'em anyway. They are used to my " Bal'more accent" now.

I'm having trouble sleeping, too. Wondering how many things I have to remember not to forget this week.

lost*in*cyberspace Thanks for the info about the commissary. We may just stop there as we leave the airport. Hopefully no one will need a med clinic visit anyway.

Shades of green is actually not technically under Disney management even at the moment. It has been leased to the military and all profits go back into the property and to the military. Therefore they do not have many of the ammenities and extras offered by actual WDW properties.

We are going April 28- May 3rd. Are the parades early then?

When we were there last April, Spectromagic was at 9, Wishes at 10. Illuminations was at 9, and I think Fantasmic was at 8.

If you plan your dinners early, you should be able to get to the parks in time for the night festivities.

Sorry it took so long to reply!

This is incorrect.

Shades of Green is not leased, it is owned outright by the military and has been since February 1994.

Therefore they do not have many of the ammenities and extras offered by actual WDW properties.

What extras don't they have which are important? You get free parking at Disney parks with a SOG pass, extra magic hours, and park purchases sent to your room. You don't get Disney Dining, but that is unimportant to me.
