A several questions about Jiko

We're staying at the AKL in early December, and would like to try Jiko, but it'd be a nightmare with our three young kids. So my questions are:

Does Jiko do take out orders? We're thinking of getting our meals to-go and bringing them up to our room.

If we call the restaurant direct as we're leaving the parks, can we order and have our meal waiting when we get there?

Are the "From the Cooking Place" items listed on the menu on Deb Wills's site considered appetizers as far as the dining plan is concerned?

Are there any dining plan restrictions at Jiko?

Last question-- how is "Jiko" pronounced?

Many thanks!

Yes, you can get takeout from Jiko.
Have you looked at the children's menu? There may be something on it your daughters would eat. The flatbreads are basically pizzas, for example.
AKL has a children's club--Simba's clubhouse. Your daughters could go there while you eat (if this is age appropriate). The kids clubs have mac and cheese, chicken strips, etc.
Whatever you deicde, I hope you get to eat at Jiko. It's one of my favorites!

We took our daughters with us to an early dinner (6pm) there. There were lots of families there with all ages of children. Ours got a little restless initially, but we had them bring small toys to play with, and that got them occupied. Once the food started showing up, they settled down and chowed.

You know your kids best as to whether or not to take them. If you diecide to, I recommend an early seating. Well worth it. Jiko was awesome.

BTW -- We took our 5 month old there last month and although she didn't eat (obviously), children were very welcomed there. In fact a couple tables away there was a family with a few kids and everyone was having a nice time. I noticed that they were eating normal kid-friendly food.

I would not hesitate to take my kids there it is full with kids!! Unless they are devil children......

We have eaten there several times with my 3 DDs from 1 -10yo. It is very kid friendly.

Thank you, CRSNDSNY . Just so I'm clear, is that "Gee" like saying the letter "G?"

Thank you for the suggestions, liamsaunt , but it's a matter of behavior, not appetite, that would keep my children out of Jiko. They're pretty well behaved, but can sometimes get rowdy, and I hate to spend what should be a nice evening worrying that someone will have a meltdown. Especially after a tiring day at the parks. The children's club option doesn't work for us, unfortunately, because our youngest is only 2, and I believe the clubs don't take children under 4.

But that's good news that we can get it to-go! Thanks for the advice.

Thank you for the replies. Can anyone answer my other questions:
