Hi.Just wandering if anyone has had thier knee scoped and it worked for the pain? My Dr said that is me next option and could be done the First part of Jan. The only thing is he would like a good six week recovery and we head to Disney the 1st or 2nd week of March. I don't want to push my recovery.
But what will my house be like after six weeks.:scared1: And our girls are 16 and 20.

I had my knee scoped and was out dancing the next night-granted I was in college at the time so my knees were younger. I haven't had problems with it since. What are you having done and why would you need 6 weeks to recover-that seems like a LONG time for a scope. The worst part of the procedure was the anesthesia--now they often do the procedure under a local though.

I've had both knees scoped. The first was for a torn meniscus that was quite painful. Getting the twisted tissue out of the knee helped the pain a lot. I believe when he is speaking about 6 weeks of physical therapy and the like. I was on crutches for a few days then graduated to a cane. I went back to work (surgical nurse) in less than a week but just used my cane to keep some of the weight off.

You will probably be fine but might want to take your cane with you. If you are feeling too much discomfort you can always rent a scooter. ;)

I had surgery on Friday and was back at work (teaching orchestra - I put a chair out, but didn't need it much) on Monday. I think the 6 weeks is a good amount of time to make sure that you're in good shape, and actually WDW will probably feel amazing after 6 weeks of good work! Good luck with your decision.

I had my knee scoped and three weeks later I moved to Florida from PA and started a crazy working schedule at WDW. You should be fine. Just follow the instructions for the doctor and go to physical therapy (if your doctor wants you to) and you should be healed in no time!

I'm having my ACL reconstructed in January (I'm going next Monday to set up the surgery). It will be my third ACL reconstrution so sadly I know the drill. I will tell you that even I had a trip planned for WDW in March and would be having my ACL done in January, I would have no qualms about going. If your knee bothers you, rent a wheelchair.

Good luck!
