We just returned and please, if you go there and create a character or bring up your old character, make sure you SIGN OUT. My daughter created a new character so she could get the born in the park status and all the rooms, etc. you receive when you sign up. She left her computer for a minute to help her friend and during that time, someone jumped on her computer and traded all of her stuff away. It happened very quickly and she was devastated. :(

She told the kid it was hers and he just worked faster. She even told an adult who was with him who told her "I don’t know you and I'm not talking to you". By the time she was able to find a CM, all they could do it shut it down but, it was too late. Everything was gone. I TRULY WISH I HAD BEEN THERE!

When we reported it, we were told it happened last week and someone was asked to leave the park. The sad part is the CM's have no power over the site and couldn't help her. She was told to contact the VMK Webmaster when she got home. Now, we can't even get into the character so all the work she did is lost.

Just be really careful!

Omg, that's so terrible! I feel really bad for her. Tell her next time someone does that to her to give him a smack for me! LOL! :rotfl: Well I feel really bad for her. Maybe I could give her something in VMK or something...

Im Really Sorry that happened to you
Those Scams Are Losers!

I am so sorry this happened to her.

I was so afraid of something like this happening when we were there. I made my son wait until we went to DL to create his character just so he could get all the perks. But of course I wanted to play too while he was getting started. Everytime he needed help, I would keep a hand on my terminal and stretch over to see what he needed. Finally I just gave up on my stuff, logged off, then concentrated on him. (Had to do the responsible parent thing  and give up my play time.)

I really wish I had been there for her but I was on the other side of the room.

She was able to create a new character the next day but, what she lost was all the stuff she traded from her old character to her new one which was a lot. Now, she can't even access her new one so she lost everything.

We received a lot of stuff on the VMK Park Quest so, I will make sure she gets most of it back.

Did you happen to see the name of the Character he was trading the stuff too?

Man what kind of parent would stand by and let their child do that to another child!?! What LOSERS!

I am so sorry this happened to your DD what is her name I will give her something if I can find her on VMK or set up a meeting so I can. This is so sad.

Let me know or I can give it to you and you can in turn give it to her.

Oh my goodness! That is so terrible! You're poor daughter.
:grouphug: to your daughter and you.

I really hate that someone treated your daughter like that. I can't believe the adult didn't even care about what was going on. Hope she can get everything back.

That's so mean. :( You really do have to make sure you log out when you are playing.

Thanks everyone! :)

You are all so nice to offer. Her name is 'disivyco' but, you really don't need to give her anything. Just say hi to her when you see her. She likes to hang out in the DIS rooms because she feels safe but, she really doesn't know anyone except for Alex who at times, I am sure feels stalked ;) . She also tries to be at the closing dance party which will end soon since school starts on Monday. By the way, she is 10.

I am so sorry to hear that! That is just a shame. And the parents sat and watched. That's even worse. If I see her, I will certainly offer some stuff I have. Poor kid. Do you know what all she lost?

That is so sad.

I know it wouldn't replace the lost items, but they should have at least let her make another BIP id.

I have read that VMK has records of who trades with who and what, so maybe they can find out who the stuff was traded to.

My son also plays, he is wildcatkris on vmk and he is also 10. If you daughter wants a friend, I'm sure he would be happy to be hers. I can guarantee he will be a safe friend. He only plays sitting at the computer next to mine, and I keep an eye on him. Most of the time he follows me around and is in the same room as me. If he isn't, I glance over at the conversation he's having.

I know I can't protect him forever, and he will hear so much worse in real life and on TV. It's the internet predators I worry about. That's why he's not allowed to chat on boards. Well, he does go to VMK forums, but I watch him there.

Also tell her to look out for Figmentboy, Singersnow, and Nozzlehead. They are my son, niece, and nephew. They are all about her age and like to make friends.:) The niece is her age, too.
I'll tell them to look out for her.
Kim
