A Sad Story Which hopefully will turn into a good one:()

well today around 20 min. to closing i went in to Surf_Surfs room because he has a stitch hat offer..(Which is amazing btw) anyways this boy comes in and right away says Deal! which in his signature it says stitch never for trade. so i said to him let me offer so i could get the hat and give it to Surf for free. I offer and he does not like because he didnt want to get a leader involved. then after the trade window was exited he told surf "oh i do not want ur offer anymore i dont want a leader." and he was trying to say how he got scammed before.. so i ask to be his "Friend" and he accepted.. then he left right away into another stitch hat offer room.I waited about a moment to follow him so it wasn't suspicious. i walk in and i realized it was INFERNO_Princess' room and it was a pretty good offer as well. he tells her that he will take the deal so he takes off his stitch hat and says we won't use a leader right? and unfortunetly she said no.so she was told by this boy that she was going to get the stitch hat in the second trade. so she gave him almost everything she had ( 2,2 star fireworks; 3 teleports;4 bats; and a lot of furniture and clothing to fill up the rest) as soon as she was done trading he immediatly logged off of vmk. and she started say "omg omg omg omg omg omg omg omg" and so on.. so all the people in her room including me thought she had gotten the stitch hat. and she right away after said I am Quitting VMK forever!! so i was like oh no no no because i hate it when people quit.. and then she explained.. i then told her that he was my friend and right away became her friend. So this boy signed back on and entered a different stitch hat offer room for a few seconds and then signed right off again. So at that moment i had everyone in the room write down his name so that if she does not get anything back from him we will all report because usually one report works better than one.. during this whole thing INFERNO_Princess was saying how nice and helpful i was and she was saying vmk was nuts to ban you. and i was just flattered hearing that again today.. so i have decided to make an extreme room to help anybody out with their problems. In this room i will help guests learn the kingdom and others with their issues and concerns. I will obviously need some people to help me out with this room and would most appreciate for some of you to do so. I don't know when i will actually open the doors to help others( maybe in about a week or so) also for those who would like to help we will have a little training course(LOL) and share a bunch of laughs.
I hope people will choose to help join me in my quest to help vmk staff out A LOT!

P.S.i have noticed how much vmk has helped my spelling

Write to Contact Us immediately, if not sooner. Tell them that you were suspicious of (title of scammer) because he was refusing to use a leader in
a rare Stitch hat trade. Tell them how you got him to add you to his friend's
list so you observed him trading in another room. And the results of how
(girl's title) didn't get her hat.

Be sure to put in the day and roughly the times this occurred, so VMK can
track the logs of text they keep. They have logs of chat AND trade windows,
so they can ban the boy and give this girl her stuff back.

You should not report him because you have no firsthand knowledge of anything. If the girl gave him things for the hat and got nothing in return, she should report this player, but you should not. And you certainly have no right to ask a room full of players to report him based upon hearsay, and confusing hearsay at that. If the girl did not give him anything, and you and a bunch of other people wrongfully report the boy, you might get another ban, and you might earn a ban for the other players, too.

That is sad that we have people out there that want to scam us of our stuff. I think that scammers should be banned forever.

No, he said do not report someome TELLING you they were scammed. Maybe that is the scam. Dark is right, the player in question should report and only that player.

Well when people do a trade they do want to ask/use someone who had alot of experience, and someone who has been on VMK a while. I'm not saying that other people who aren't CLs' aren't experienced or haven't been on VMK for a while aren't good people to ask to help with a trade.....I'm not a CL myself. I'm just saying that it's easier to recognize a leader.

For example: If someone wanted to do a trade here on the boards they might want to ask a mod to help with the trade, like if they wanted to do room codes. The 2 people will send the code to a mod, then the mod will send out the codes to the people trading.

But anyways, to wrap it all up, they usually ask leaders if it's a good trade.

Obviously that girl should have known not to give her stuff without having the stitch hat in the window at the same time.

for each report of a scammer, the likelyhood that anything will be done goes down. Since YOU were not scammed, what did you have to report? "Someone told me someone scammed them" thats all you can report. now, for each of those that staff gets, it seems more like sour grapes rather than a legitimate report.

Regardless, both parties were very happy to have me there, and all I had to do was stand there until everything was traded.

I've heard horror stories from other leaders, though, on stuff getting lost in their inventories and the like, and then the leader looks like a thief, so the old saying of the road to you know where is paved with good intentions!

You did not do the right thing. You reported a player based upon what a second player told you. The boy may have been a scammer, or an attempted scammer. However, for all you know, she booted him and then said omg omg omg to get sympathy and have people donate stuff to her to "keep her from leaving" VMK. That, too, is a popular scam.

You should not report people based upon what others have told you. How would you have liked it if 20 people reported you after I posted about how you tried to burn my brother out of his stitch hat in a one-sided offer? As it is, my brother is the only one who reported, and for all I know, nothing was done, because you were already on a ban by that time.

Arfy had the individual right because she witnessed this player trying to scam other Stitch Offer rooms. She has the experience that he is in fact a scammer.

So, yes: Arfy DID ABSOLUTELY DO THE RIGHT THING. I cannot understand how you think otherwise. It offends me that someone can even think that way, after reading Arfy's post.

EDIT: The fact that Arfy went through and enlisted everyone's aid was brilliant and should be commended. VMK would most likely react if they have a lot of scammer complaints about ONE PLAYER. It was brilliant, and it was morally right.
