A room with a (calming) view

Spicey,
I think because you had a studio in 45. They are on the ends. I can tell u, we were in the middle of the bldg in a 2 bedroom and didn't even hear a whisper of the busses. I really do feel the studios have the worst views at OKW. #45 is one of my absolute fav bldgs.
The one bldg where we had a one bedroom in and heard the busses was #62. Nice view from 62 and we could even see/hear Illuminations, but the busses were noisy especially in the morning when sitting out on the balcony. Here's our view from our 1 bedroom #62:
We were on the end, and the road was just off to the left. VERY close to the HH/main pool though :

I agree. We LOVED building 45, and had no noise at all there, but we were in a ground floor 2 bedroom.

Hard to beat OKW for a calm view. Here's one from Bldg 17:

Yes on the end close to the stop sign - on the 2nd floor.

it definitely turned me off this building. It is a big building - so probably most of it was fine. but I would be surprised even in the 1-bedroom next to us - if noise was not a problem.

those buses can be loud changing gears getting up that hill.

there was just the studio and 1-bedroom up those steps.

I did refer back to an old post of Doc's that I had saved and I do see that #45 is type A according to Doc's layout. So I see what you're saying Spicey. We were in one of those three 2 bedrooms on the second floor. To quote Doc's post :
Type A buildings are all 3 stories.
1st Floor- S,1,2,2,2,1,S
2nd Floor- S,1,2,2,2,1,S
3rd Floor- 2,2,2
Buildings 13,20,21,23,26,27,28,32,33,34,36,37,39,41,42,45,46 ,47,50,52,54,56 and 62 are all Type A.

Here is the thread I was referring to :

Oh wow, I thought this thread would help make my room decision easier, but I guess not. Haha, with all the photos and room suggestions I've got more options to consider than I did when I began. That's probably a good thing, though.

Steffy, are all those pics you posted from the same room? Do you remember which building and/or room it was? Looks like an awesome view :)

thanks again,

Another question. For those of you who've stayed at OKW during the summer months, how difficult is it to get a barbeque grill? Are they generally always taken? Do you remember seeing people at them often?

I stayed in building 62 last week in a dedicated 2 BR. I don't think I could say enough good things about our view. It was a ground floor villa, and there was enough shrubbery that our patio seemed more private than I've experienced before. We had trees, a fountain, the water, and part of the golf course all well within view. After seeing some of these pics, I think that's just par for the course at OKW.

yea there was nothing above me on the second floor.

so your second floor had something all around you. ;)
definitely better experience.

but I really love studios and the points saving.:woohoo:

I've stayed in 4525. One bedroom. Two bedroom with Spicetcat's studio. And I had no noise issues whatsoever. However, I live in a city, downtown. You could also see the road. And the studio, as others have said, is on the end.

Honestly, when I walked into that suite, well, it's breathtaking. It veers out from the studio next door. So the view on that side was straight up the river and complete river view from all other windows.

I was emotionally overwhelmed, just kept walking around mumbling "wow", with the room and made sure to tell the CM. It was a first time at OKW and I thought, "how lucky are we?". We were a group of 13 family members. Not in that suite! But it is where we all hung out. My mom just mentioned it to me this weekend, "remember that room on the river?"

OKW has many beautiful suites. And those beloved balconies....

We pretty much like anything in the Turtle Pond or Southpoint area.

It's tough to get a bad view at OKW.
