A Rolex Vacation on a Timex Budget: Sept '11 PTR (TR is Live!)

Sorry to hear about what you are going through right now. Like swwake says this is the best place to vent and you can vent away all you like

I was also thinking could it be Bells Palsy, I don't know much about it but it sounds similar to what my boss had.

Really hope everything works out well for you, sending lots of hugs and good thoughts your way

So, following a morning of safaris and Disco Yetis:rotfl2: (I know it’s way too much to hope for him to be in A Mode….) we will need something for lunch. This is another day that we did not make ADRs for lunch, but I think I’d like to try the Flametree BBQ, it looks like a great choice. My DH and I both adore barbeque, so I am willing to give it a try! We can’t eat too much though, because we have some super big pig plans for the evening!

I hope we will be able to get a full enjoyable day at AK by around 4, and hopefully have a good amount of time to perhaps get a frosty beverage and walk through the “quiet” areas of the park. If not, we can probably work in a visit on another day. Maybe.:goodvibes

Before we leave, however, I hope to catch at least a showing of the Festival of the Lion King. I would say that if I needed to pick one I absolutely wanted to see, it would be that. I think Its Tough To Be A Bug will be closed for refurb during our time there, but I can’t say that really upsets me at all either.

So what is your “can’t miss” at AK?:confused3 A nook / path like Dee suggested? Or perhaps a shop / watering hole / or place to eat? It’s certainly the park I know the least amount about, so this will be an adventure for both of us!

Once we’ve had our fill of Nature, we’ll head back to the hotel to get ready for an truly amazing experience. Even before I tried to plan a private dining event in the parks, my number one “must do” item was making reservations at Victoria and Albert’s for dinner. To make things even more special, we were able to book the Queen Victoria Room. To start, the room itself only has 4 tables. They give you a chair for your purse. That’s right, your little bag gets its own seat.:scared1: I’m having a hard time with this one. Perhaps because I haven’t eaten at truly posh restaurants before, but really? A seat for my BAG? Perhaps I should just not take a purse with me so I won’t start giggling like an idiot when they bring out the little purse stool…..

Enough of that. This dinner promises to be spectacular, with course after course of amazing ingredients, wine, and apparently they finish your dishes at your table. Wow. Good thing we’re cabbing it back to the hotel that night, because I’m fairly certain they might have to roll me out of there!:rotfl:

Depending on when we get out of dinner, we might try to catch some fireworks on the beach…. But we shall see how long 10 courses take!
It should be a perfectly magical evening to celebrate three years with the most wonderful man on earth.:lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc Except when he requests last minute Ohana reservations.:cutie:

This is a great place to vent. Among "friends". So happy to hear that you are a cancer survivor.

Have they considered Bells Palsy? My cousin had that once. Minor and temporary, but nerve-wracking anyway. But I don't think the left arm thing fits with that diagnosis.

Your dad sounds like he had quite the wit. I'm sure you miss him deeply.

Sending special thoughts your way for the MRI and results. Let's just hope this is nothing but a little glitch in the road of life, and you're just fine within days or weeks. Keep us posted!

Yeah, it's all concentrated on my right side, but they did rule out Bells, since that's concentrated on the face. Still a possibility of inflamation or nerve damage.... or a reaction to infection.

Hopefully I'll get some blood results back today, I'm kind of watching my phone like a hawk. Ha.:goodvibes

So sorry to hear all you are going through.

I hope you get some answers/good news from your doctors soon. It has really been such a rough patch for you these past few months. Has anyone told you that you could really use a vacation?

Dee

Oh lord Dee, I keep telling myself that a vacation will make it all better... it has to, if its the most Magical Place on Earth(tm), right? ;)

Not quite... just 10 days. It'll be the longest WDW trip I've taken... and the longest I'll be away from my DH and kids!

Sorry to hear about your health struggles. Sending good thoughts and vibes your way for the scan!

Thanks! Still, 10 days for girls only? I think you are going to have a blast, and you'll be really happy to see your family when you get home :)

Wow... your night at V&A's sounds wonderful!

My only "can't miss" items for AK are KS and EE. As long as I can hit those, everything else is cake! ;)

Oh, but I do have a "must DON'T"... Flights of Wonder.

Yes, I will have a fabulous time! And I will be happy to see DH and the girls... although, I can't say for sure if my youngest will be happy to see me or not. It will all depend on what souvenirs I bring home for her, LOL! If I don't bring her the giant Stitch doll she's been asking for, she might not be glad to see me!

Hahahahaha.... I can see it now! "Welcome home Mommy... whatcha got for me?":lmao:

Day 4 sounds simply magical. I hope it's everything you expect and more. Ending the night with fireworks would be amazing!

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Sending my thoughts and prayers your way

Feel free to vent here any time, and don't worry about being depressing, if it's worrying you, you should be able to talk about it!

I'm so sorry about everything you're going through right now, but hopefully you will have some answers soon! :goodvibes I'm no doctor, but my first thought was Bells Palsy also, which can be caused by Lyme Disease. Sending you lots of pixie dust! :tinker:

Day 4 sounds fantastic! I can't wait to hear about your V & A experience! I had no idea they give you a seat for your purse, that's a little weird! :rotfl:

I think the Lion King is an excellent choice for a show. Nemo is good too, but can be a pain because if it is crowded, you may not get into the theatre. Perhaps not at the time of year you are going.

Flame tree has good BBQ- I think if you walk towards past the initial tables after you get your food, there are tables that overlook the river- sounds romantic.

I already played the "best suggestion" game, but you improved it with the addition of a frosty beverage!

Thank goodness you have a pimped-out purse worthy of "the chair". I am quite afraid that they would escort me out as I attempted to place my fanny pack there.

Oh hun am sorry to hear about your health issues  Hope the scan results come back okay and like others have said feel free to vent on here.

I think you guys are going to love V&A! :lovestruc Having recently read a review of the restaurant it sounds amaazing and am sure it will be a great way to celebrate your anniversary. I wouldn't worry about the purse situation...enjoy being treated like royalty!!

I am looking forward to The Lion King show as well though am a bit sad that I will miss out on ITTBAB...oh well it's an excuse to plan another trip! ;)

I am SOOO sorry about the health issues that you are dealing with  I am saying lots of prayers and you are in my thoughts hoping that it is just something minor!

Ooh your V&A dinner is going to be perfect, can't wait to hear all about it :)

Sorry to hear about your health troubles and hope you get an answer soon.

Hey everyone... I'll have a longer update later on today, but I just wanted to let you all know I had the MRI last night and have a follow on appt w/ my doctor tomorrow afternoon.

Symptoms haven't gotten better and I spent 3 hours in the ER on Sunday...the good news is that I do not have Lyme Disease, my ANA came back negative, and my Thyroid seems to be working. LOL.:lmao:

Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. With 3 weeks to go, I need them!

Thank you for the thoughts!

I'm really hoping it will work out that way (seeing the fireworks) but if not, at least it will have been a magical dinner, for certain!

Feel free to vent here any time, and don't worry about being depressing, if it's worrying you, you should be able to talk about it!

I know! Weird, but at the same time, rather nice. I always hate trying to find somewhere to put my purse when we go out! Of course now, I need to find a purse that won't look sill on the seat!

I'm just glad to know I don't have Lyme Disease now... and it's more likely some kind of infection since it's now the left side of my face that is super puffy today. *sigh* If it weren't so scary, this would be hilarious.

I hadn't thought of Nemo, I guess I keep forgetting its there. We will check it out and see if we can't catch a showing. The crowd trackers for when we are going keep going UP. We started at a 1 and we're up to a crowd level of 7. I guess there aren't any quiet times at Disney anymore.

Of course I'm looking for a new purse now... but to be honest, I'd be half inclined to bring a fanny pack, just because it would be so contrary!:rotfl:

I might be wrong on ITTBAB, as it doesn't show up anymore on the "closed" list for when we're going.... so you might want to double check my math, so to speak.

I'm waiting on pins and needles for the scan results.... though I know it usually takes 3 days for them to get sent over. Hopefully things will come a little faster since my doc scheduled my appt for tomorrow!:)

I am SOOO sorry about the health issues that you are dealing with  I am saying lots of prayers and you are in my thoughts hoping that it is just something minor!

Thank you thank you thank you! To be honest, right now I'm personally leaning towards some strange sort of skin infection or something. The only time this ever happened in the past was when I had one of my wisdom tooth extraction sites get infected back in December. Once they put me on an antibiotic, it cleared up within a few days. Granted I'm not a doctor... but at this point, I'll help them with the diagnosis! :lmao:

Ooh your V&A dinner is going to be perfect, can't wait to hear all about it :)

I know! I heard that they email you a week or so out from your reservations to ask about special requests, etc. It's sooooo fancy, I just love it!:goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your health troubles and hope you get an answer soon.

Thanks! Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some concrete answers. At this point, just knowing WHAT is going on will make me feel better than 3 weeks of not knowing.:sad2:

Hoping for the best for you!!!! Keep us posted

Thanks Jen!

That was perhaps the strangest thing that ever happened to me in my life!

Hope no one else along the East coast has any damage. Just got home, lots of stuff off the walls here, and two REALLY upset cats. Everything else seems OK so far.

As a friend of mine said.... Sorry about that, Eastern Seaboard.... Love, Virginia.:rolleyes1

OMG, we felt the Earthquake at work, and I live in CT! :scared1: It was so weird, the building just started shaking for a minute, and everyone was like "was that an earthquake?"
