A Restful Spring Break? - A March/April 2024 Trip Report

Ugh, I was trying to respond to quotes but Disboards is acting weird and keeps taking me to other links/deleting my post - anyone else having that issue??

Life happens, but I'm glad to see you back and posting! Sorry to hear about your mom but glad to hear she is doing alright for now.

I don't think I've ever seen "The End" at the end of MMRR before, that is a nice touch!

It sounds like a nice evening, so great to have the LLs stacked and be able to avoid long lines at HS. Can't wait to read more!

I just LOVE Morgan's lightspeed backpack!
A co-worker of mine gave it to her! The co-worker bought it and siad she felt ridicuous wearing a small backpack. It was a clear pocket and the inside it has holes to put pins! Def made for the parks!

Ugh, I was trying to respond to quotes but Disboards is acting weird and keeps taking me to other links/deleting my post - anyone else having that issue??
I keep having the comments section go gray while typing. It's super annoying!

When I noticed it I was so surpised!

Capping Off the Evening!

I left us off, heading to Fantasmic. it was about 7:45 with the show scheduled to start at 8:30. We didn't have any dining package, so we figured we should get there fairly early.
Heading into Fantasmic
We walked the long walk into the theater. It is so far away!!! I am pretty sure you almost walk back to Yacht Club!

And as we got to a CM directing folks directed us to the right side. Which we thought was weird. But we went with it. And when we got to the actual seats, they directed us down a new row and we ended up literally front row!
Waiting for the show to Start

We were in our seats at 7:50! Once we were seated, I went up to the concession stand to get some liquid. We were mostly just thirsty.

7:56 PM: Getting snacks and drinks
I texted Andy our options,
Untitled
And ended up getting a Shoffenhauffer for Andy and I to share, 2 bottles of water for the girls and a box of popcorn.

While waiting I asked if we wanted to keep the Oga’s reservation, as we were all tired but we decided to keep it.
Waiting for the show to start

The show started right at 8:30
Mirror Mirror
The view from our seats was great EXCEPT the fact we were getting wet! And it was a bit chilly. But it was a great view! I totally forgot about the fact that you could get wet. The seats just to the right of us heading to the ends, those people were SOAKED!!!!

Fire
It was HOT by the fire. It felt good!

We really liked the new portion of the show. It was a great improvement.

Belle and Beast
We got great views of the floats as they came by!

Ariel and Eric

And my favorite part! The boat at the end!
Ferry Boat

Boat

Fantasmic is a great show. We don't see it every trip and it had been awhile so it was nice to see again. And I am gonna say it.... I like Disney World version better.. I know everyone says Disneyland is better...

The show is was over at 9:00. We sat and waited a bit for some of the crowd to leave since we were all the way at the front. And finally headed out. We did have to get to our Oga's reservation...

MF

Galaxy's Edge at Night

We wer into Galaxy's Edge by 9:20, it was DEAD!!!

We checked in at Oga's and were brought in almost immediately...

The place was fairly empty! There were a number of tables open, so when they took us a standing table we were a little disappointed and annoyed. But we had a table to ourselves, so we just went with it.

We ordered our drinks.
Andy and I both ended up going with beers.
Cheers

I went with the Surabat Valley Harvest Brew - Terrapin Beer Co
Gose that is Kettle-soured, Tart, and Salty with a Watermelon Aroma
I love sour beers and this was great. I did really like this. It wasn’t super sour but sour enough.

And Andy went with the Bad Motivator IPA

Andy liked his, but his tasted like … well a IPA

Morgan ordered a Jabba Juice
Simply® Orange with Pineapple, Kiwi, Cantaloupe, and Blueberry Popping Pearls
She liked hers enough.

Gwen stuck to water.

Cantina Time
Andy's face kind of summed it up. We were all tired it had been a good day but a long day. And it was empty in there and just wasn't the same.

Cheers

A family came in after us and was brought to the bar where it’s lower. I think it’s for folks in wheelchairs, but works well for kids as well. They had 2 boys, one in a high chair, which I thought was funny to see at a bar.

The bar tender was talking with the kid and had brought over his drink. And he wanted to fist pump with the kid and told the kid to punch it. (I think the kid had the hyperdrive drink) And the little boy with all his might, fist pumped his little hand right into the drink the bar tender had just given him. It was hilarious, the bar tender and mom had simultaneously started to say no but it didn’t matter, he went in with full convection! And then the bar tender just laughed and laughed… He said that was totally his fault that he wasn’t clear. The poor kid felt bad at first but everyone told him he was fine.

The best part was they got the little boy a new drink but gave the left over drink to the baby brother in the high chair in a shot glass and they did cheers and he cheered, It was adorable. And honestly the whole interaction was the highlight of being in there.

DJ Rex
Rex is always great.

Oga's

Later on, they brought in a family to our table. And it was just weird, Half the place was empty and they were still cramming people together.

Towards the end, DJ Rex played the song where the bar tenders usually sing along. But they didn’t this time. The whole place just didn’t have the same feel it used to have.

This was def a last time for us here for a long time. We would go again if we were there with someone who really wanted to go but it will be awhile for us. It was just not the same as it used to be and the drink are $$$.

We left Oga's around 10:00.
Andy wanted a few photos in the area, but Morgan was tired and CRABBY. So we snapped a few and moved on.

Falcon Selfie
Morgan was a good sport thankfully.

Andy and his Wheels

Leaving Galaxy's Edge
I think the park was officially closed by then, so it was pretty empty. Which was nice to walk out in a empty park.

We took our time walking out and made it to the boat dock around 10:20.
Waiting for a boat
As luck would have it a boat was pulling up.

And we were back at Yacht Club by 10:35!
Heading back to the resort

Yacht Club

It was a good day but we were all ready for bed. It was straight to bed once we got back to our room.

-----------------------------------Up next, moving day and a bit of a struggle bus day--------------------------------------------

Wow you had such amazing seats for Fantasmic - i love your pictures! No fun with it being cold though :(
The place was fairly empty! There were a number of tables open, so when they took us a standing table we were a little disappointed and annoyed. But we had a table to ourselves, so we just went with it.
Yea, Oga's is such an odd place to me - I don't understand how they seat people, or even why they built standing only. Like of course this was gonna be popular - make it bigger and let us all sit down and take a break!
Later on, they brought in a family to our table. And it was just weird, Half the place was empty and they were still cramming people together.

Towards the end, DJ Rex played the song where the bar tenders usually sing along. But they didn’t this time. The whole place just didn’t have the same feel it used to have.

So weird that they brought folks to your table. And I 100% agree - I feel like I've never seen the bartenders act in character after like my first or second time. No shade to them - I'm sure they're crazy busy and overworked, but it does take away from the fun. And with the drinks being so expensive and no real food...it's a pass for us too.

Easter Day Summary

We ended up getting 5 LL for the day. And at $39 a person, that is $7.80 per ride... PLUS, our 5th LL was Alien Swirling Saucers which we decided not to use. So really we have 4 which turns into $9.75 per ride. To me, this is NOT worth it!!! I am very happy with the change. If nothing else, paying ahead of time will make it feel less like we are getting Nickel and Dimed!

We only were able to get 2 LL in MK since we were leaving to go rest at lunch. (which was fine)
And by the time we started making LL for Hollywood Studios it was getting to be slim picking. And by the 3rd stacked Allien Swirling Saucers was all that was really left. (That and shows where you really didn't need LL)

That being sad, we managed to ride 8 rides in Magic Kingdom and see the Easter Parade. And then just 3 rides in Hollywood Studios and Fantasmic. So, 11 rides and 2 shows. Honestly not bad!

This is our second time at Disney World on Easter and both times were pretty manageable. Easter is a pretty manageable holiday to be in the parks!

Morning Everyone! It's going to be a hot 3 days here!!! I am bracing myself for 98, 100, 95 days and they say it should feel over 100 each day! Plus the girls have bank today and Wedneday. Should be intresting! Also, I keep getting the area to type to go gray and it is SUPER annoying!!!! That's all.

Day Four: A Good Start to the Day!

Today was a sad day.... We had to move away from our room. I was truely sad. I knew there wasn't going to be a room as nice as this one. I think we set our alarms set for 5:45 AM. Early! But we needed to finish packing and we wanted to rope drop for Rise.

At 6:30 I purchased Genie + for us for the day. It was $35 a person, so for all 4 of us $149.12 total. So not cheap. And that was JUST for Hollywood Studios, the park hopper version was $39 a person.

Shirts for the day were left out and looked at, at some point.
Tinkerbell Gifts for the day
They were Hollywood Studios themed.

I logged on again and had Morgan count down for our first LL of the day. I wanted to ride Slinky since we didn’t get to last trip.
By 7:04 AM I had our first LL of the day was Slinky Dog, got 2:55 - 3:55.
I was a little annoyed that it was so late in the day. We didn’t really want to stay that late into the day. But we said we would make it work.
First LL of the Day

7:07 AM we were already leaving the room! I was proud that we were getting out when we did.
Heading out

We dropped bags off at Bell Services
All of our Bags
Said it would be at next hotel by 5:00! Which I thought was a little late, but I went with it. Bell Services Lady wasn’t super chipper, which I guess makes sense since it was so early but she was just a little too not magical.

By 7:15 we were headed to the Boat
headed to the Boat
As we were finishing up with Bell Services I could see that a boat was at the dock.

But by the time we got out there, I could see there was a boat pulling into Boardwalk across the way. So, we knew it wouldn’t be too long. But it always seems like forever that the boat sits over there. I know it’s not, it just feels that way.

Bye Yacht Club. :(
Good bye Yacht Club

We were on a boat by 7:25!
On the boat
I was proud of oursevles. We are early to the park people but usually not the first of the. line folks.

Getting off the Boat at HS
Made it to the boat dock and were meet with this see of people!

By 7:40 we line to get through turnstyle
There was ALOT of people waiting to get through! And all the lines were long. Of course, we selected the slow line… we always do.
Waiting to get into Hollywood Studios

But we finally made it through.

And by 7:49 we were finally through the line. 9 longest minutes!!!
Finally inside of HS

We headed straight for Rise once we were through. Andy said EVERYONE would be going to Rise but a good amount was headed to Slinky Dog and a handful to Tower of Terror.

Once we got over to the entrance it was a posted 20 minute wait. So, how long would it take?
Untitled

Heading into Galaxy's Edge

So, 7:55 we were officially in line for Rise of Resistance
Untitled
The backside of Space Water!!!!

By 8:16 AM we were already In room with Ray! (An hour from when we left the Yacht Club!)
Ray
We waited almost exactly 20 minutes. We basically walked all the way through the que.

And we were seeing my favorite animatronic Lt. Bex at 8:20
Untitled

And at 8:23 taking Selfies with Storm Troopers!
Untitled
This room always gets me. Everyone is all chatty and excited to be on the ride and you walk in and everyone gets SOOOO quiet!!! Has anyone NOT had that expierence?

We found Bex again!!!

Once we got off, I looked on Touring Plans App and it said that the wait for Tower of Terror was 20 minutes still. So, Gwen and I decided to try and get over to ride. Andy and Morgan were going to do something else while we did that.
Untitled

So, at 8:48 AM Gwen and I headed into Toy Story Land to Tower of Terror. We stopped at the bathrooms in Toy Story Land. As we left the bathrooms, I tried to check the wait times. I was checking both Touring plans wait time and the Disney app.

As we got to the Brown Derby, we stopped and I checked again...... and..... the wait got high! So we abandoned ship.

I texted Andy to see where they were and he said they were in line for Star Tours. So, we headed that way. (Basically made a big circle)
Untitled
9:01 AM: Andy and Morgan were ready to ride.

9:07 AM: Gwen and I turn.
Untitled

Gwen and I got some scenes that either we hadn’t had in a long time or never before. We were happy with our selections.
We compared with Morgan and Andy after and we def got the better combo!

Andy and Morgan waited for us in the gift shop. Once we were all back together, We decided we needed breakfast next. Morgan didn’t want to go all the way to Woody’s Lunch Box, so we decided to try Hydrolics

Untitled
Tried out the new Ice Cold Hydraulics for some breakfast (mostly because it was right there. I wanted to got o Woody’s lunch box, but was out voted). I am just going to say it. DON'T go here!!! It was terrible!!!!

We got
Untitled
Mickey Pretzel
This was probably the best item. Classic and perfect.

Cinnamon Rolls
These were terrible! They were dry and the icing was weird tasting.

Mini Churros
Gwen said the mini churros were ok, but the chocolate sauce tasted funny. I think it had coke “infused” in it. It did taste funny.

Found a table by Pizza Rizzo to sit and eat. It was a nice and relaxing breakfast. Not the best breakfast but it was nice and quiet over there. I do wish I had gone and gotten breakfast tots but I had just walked in a circle.
Untitled

We eventually decided to move on and headed to Muppets.

Around 9:45, we headed into Muppets 3D
Untitled
We went in and were some of the first folks in the waiting room. Eventually they told us all the move the far left. And then forward. They were packing us in! I was surprised by how many people were in that waiting room. It felt like a full show!

Untitled

Untitled

Right at 10:01 w were in the show area.
Show was great as always. Although I do have to take the glasses on and off as my eyes just need breaks from the 3D. I think the show needs to be updated a bit. Or maybe they need new glasses?

At some point I made our second LL. I grabbed a Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway railway. It was for later and the times were going by fairly quickly. I was starting to be annoyed by Genie + this day. Everything for Hollywood Studios was getting gobbled up WAY to fast.

-------------------------------------------------------------up next killing time -----------------------------------------------------
https://flic.kr/p/2q4b378]Untitled[/url]

I hope your next room is also perfect - or close to it. So impressed you were checked out so early and on your way! It really worked out for Rise. I feel your pain on Genie +. So frustrating when rides are being snapped up so quickly. I hope the new "fast pass" is greatly improved!

Wow - great end to Easter and a busy next morning. I love the not so merry faces on the girls with the suitcases. Me too ladies, me too. Early mornings are not fun. The ONLY time I'm ok with getting up that early is at Disney and I'm still going to be a bit crabby about it (at least until I get in the park.)

This room always gets me. Everyone is all chatty and excited to be on the ride and you walk in and everyone gets SOOOO quiet!!! Has anyone NOT had that expierence?

Well, my daughter and I rode in Disneyland and there was a group of rowdy guys with us.
They had been cracking jokes all the way through and when the doors opened to the Stormtrooper scenes
one of them started yelling "Hey, I know that guy! The guy in the white, the one with the blaster" his friends were all laughing and he kept it up. Now, I like a good joke as much as the next person but this kind of peeved me a bit because a) I am a big Star Wars fan and b) it took me out of the immersion of the scene. If this had been my first time riding I would have been really mad, thankfully it wasn't!

Day Four: Studios slowing starting to get the best of us

I left off with us finishing up with Muppet show. With no LL to use at this point and lines pretty long, we went to see another show. Luckily it was another show that we wanted to see.

10:46 AM: Waiting for Indiana Jones Show to start.
We got a fairly close seat on the far right hand side. Which we usually sat on the left hand side, so it was a nice new view.
Untitled

Untitled

We always like this show and Gwen requested it for the day.
Untitled

Untitled

After the show, Gwen hit the bathroom. And we talked about what we wanted to do. We had a little list of things to do that weren’t long waits.

First up, I suggested we do something we say we needed to do every trip and never do. Try the Space Milks!

Untitled
We tried blue milk during previews of the area and haven't had it since. I kept saying I don't really remember what it tasted like.

We got Green and Blue Milk. But we ordered the new special Blue Milk.

Green Milk
Plant-based blend of Coconut and Rice Milk with zippy citrus and tropical characteristics
Untitled
Gwen really liked this version. To me it tasted bland. It wasn’t terrible but it just didn’t have a lot of flavor. It tasted. Coconut-y with a hint of citrus.

Tenoo Swirl Crunchies Cereal
Topped with Raspberry Jelly and Mini Rainbow Crunchy Candies
Untitled
Morgan requested this version.
The Raspberry Jelly that they put in this, MADE this drink. Honestly the milks taste bland. And the jelly really punched it up. I would get this version again.

Untitled
Andy checked out the Kylo Ren “show” while we stayed in the shade. The show is barley a show. But it was fun to watch while we sipped our milks.

Untitled

After we finished our drinks and the "show" was over we headed into Walt’s area to find the Percy Jackson exhibit. Morgan loves the Percy Jackson books and was looking forward to checking this out.

It was all the way in the far back, we almost didn't even find it.
Untitled by Ariella Saucier, on Flickr

Barely an exhibit but Morgan was happy to see it none the less.
Untitled

Untitled

We checked out some of the stuff on the way out.
Untitled
I love looking at maps of the parks. I don't know why but they facinate me.

Untitled
And I swear this wasn't there before.

Untitled
And a classic!

Next we headed to Launch Bay next. (we were kind of going from inside place to inside place) I also think this had just reopened, or at least since we had been there last.

As we walked in, they had art work in the breezeway area. Morgan really liked the art work on the left hand side. So we checked that out.
Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled

Untitled
Not sure why Yodi was depicted like this... but Morgan found it fasinating.

We spent a good 20 minutes out there while Morgan looked at all of the artwork. We finally headed into the main area. The girls wanted to see the light sabers that used to be there. But they were all gone!!! :(

And the store there was completely gone. So, there wasn’t much to do there. And we didn’t feel like waiting to meet a character at that time. So, we didn’t spend a ton of time in the area.

What we did do, was look at the art work again....
Untitled

We didn't know what else to do, so we headed towards our lunch location. I was hoping we could check in early.... will we be able to?

-----------------------------------------------up next lunch and the struggle bus arrives-----------------------------------------------

Good idea to have a list of things to do besides rides when you're in-between attractions and it's too early for lunch. Hope you were able to check in early and the rest of the day goes well!

Day Four: Wrapping up Hollywood Studios

I left us off, headed to check in to lunch.

Untitled

At 12:20 we tried to check into Sci Fi Drive Inn, made us wait 5 minutes to check in.

I HATE that Disney does this. Especially if you are 1 minute early for the checkin window. We just took a seat, as a bench opened up and just waited. And then I checked us in on the app. Which seemed so silly since we were there. But it was what we did.

I watched ALOT of people walk in asking for walk in seating and the CM kept having to turn them away!

We waited a LONG time to get called. Our resevation was officially for 12:40. At 1:00 we were finally seated at a car.
Untitled

We were in the front of a car and about the same time they sat 2 people behind us.
The server kind of treated us as a whole which was weird with the timing of the food. We didn’t order apps but the people behind us did and it felt like they waited to give ALL of us our main meals.

The people behind us ordered nachos, and those came out and then there main meal came out all the same time, which was kind of annoying.

Morgan and Gwen started with Waters and Andy and I got Diet Cokes.

I decided on the Bánh Mì Burger
Untitled
Grilled House-made Pork Patty topped with Roasted Pork Belly, Pickled Vegetables, Cucumber, Herbs, and a Sriracha Aïoli
I remember that the Trackers came here recently and Jen really liked it.
This did not disappoint! The roasted pork belly really added some good flavor! And salty-ness.

Andy went with the Classic American Burger*
Untitled
Our Signature-blend of Beef with House-made Burger Sauce, Applewood-smoked Bacon, American Cheese, Shredded Lettuce, and Marinated Heirloom Tomato served on a Brioche Bun

Morgan choose the same thing. They both enjoyed the burgers. Morgan was a little overwhelmed with the size of the burger.

Gwen decided to go with the Sci-Fi Smoked Chicken Wings
Hoisin-glazed Smoked Chicken Wings served with House-made Sesame-Red Cabbage Slaw
The server said that they were 6 wings and suggested if it was her meal to add Fries. Which she gladly accepted.
Gwen actually really liked these.

Andy, Morgan and I also ordered a set of the wings to share between the 3 of us. They were ok… Not my favorite wings. But we probably didn’t need them as our burgers were all so big!

It was nice going here again, as it had been awhile. But it was a little rough around the edges being a more popular place.

The shows are great, and we had a good time looking up the movies they were featuring as they are all real movies!!! Morgan thought it was funny that they were all real. I think before she thought they were all made up.
Untitled

Untitled by Ariella Saucier, on Flickr

Just before 2:00, As we were getting ready to leave, we took turns going to the bathroom. While Gwen and I went to the bathroom, I left my phone at the “car” And when we got back, I saw that I missed a call. I reconized the number as possibly being the local hospital at home. And my stomach sank, as I knew it probably meant that my mom had been sent to the hospital.

And a bit later my sister texted me and let me know that that was true. She was admitted for Low Blood Pressure. This is sadly not unusal for her. So, I became a bit distracted for a bit.

I did snap a car photo before we left.
Untitled by Ariella Saucier, on Flickr

By 2:10, we finally left. We kind of soaked in the air conditioning and relaxed and killed some time.

We STILL ddin’t have any windows open for LL, so we decided to go see the Frozen Sing-a-long show. Andy’s sister LOVES this show, so we said we would do it for Auntie Aimee. AND we hadn't seen it since the girls were small.

As we were deciding what to do, I saw that Slinky Dog was down. This was a huge bummer for us, as we could have picked different LL if we hadn’t done that one so early. I was just hoping that it would be back up by our window.

We walked in for the 2:30 show and were seated in the very front.
Untitled

The show was actually really funny!
Untitled

We hadn’t seen this in a long time and I forgot how funny the historians were. The one guy was really funny.
Untitled

At the end he said he was leaving because “He was going to EPCOT because he liked watching people try Beverly”

Morgan even laughed a bit and at some of the more adult jokes. It was one of those moments when we felt the age of the girls. We all agreed we enjoyed it and were glad we did it.

Finally it was time for our first LL of the day!
We got in line for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 3:10.
I was glad we had the LL as the wait was over an hour!
MMRR LIne

By 3:14 we were in the Pre-show and it was working and we were glad to see the show!
MMRR Pre-Show

Right before we got on the ride, I got the alert that our room was ready!
We got 1025 on the 1st floor. Woo Hoo!! We were ready to head over!!!

And by 3:24 we were Ride Ready!
MMRR Ready to ride

MMRR Carnaval

Also, on the way out, don't miss the Walt Disney Portrait on the way out!
Walt
I LOVE that they added this.

We had ONE last LL to use… we headed into Toy Story Land to either ride Slinky if it was back up or Toy Story Mania.

Slinky was starting to run, but wasn’t listed as open yet. I suggested we go over and see if it comes up. But Andy said too many people would be in line. And the girls didn’t want to ride for some reason… So, we headed into Toy Story Mania to use our anytime lighting lane. I was slightly annoyed with my family at this point. (ok more than annoyed at this point, the day had not gone how we wanted to)

We used our anytime LL for Toy Story Mania. and were on almost immediately.

TSMM Ready to Ride

TSMM Scores
Gwen and I rode together this time, and Gwen went for accuracy. She is a master at it! She says you don't actually have to be perfect to get 100%

We used 3 LL for the day. 3!! Not great… I was pretty tempted to go complain to someone but I didn’t have the energy to do it. The only things left at this point in the day, was things you didn’t need it for, Muppets 3D, Indiana Jones, etc. It was a BUSY day! And not worth the cost!!!

After our ride on ToyStory Mania, it was def time to head out. This ended up being a WAY longer day than we had planned.

Morgan or Gwen asked if we could walk through the stores for air conditioning. So we went into the store that has all of the Star Wars merch, which of course prompted Andy to look at the merch.

We ended up buying a new car magnet. We had a Rebel Spy one that got too gross and we had to throw it out, so we got a new one, this time we are with the Rebel Alliance.

We finally left the park a little after 4:00. We def had plans to be at the resort MUCH earlier than this!

----------------------------------------------------------up next.... checking saga-----------------------------------------------

Day Four: The Great Check-In Saga

Just before 5:00 we pulled into Wilderness Lodge
Heading out

Since, we had a room confirmation, we headed to find our room.

It was a first floor room and I wasn’t completely happy with it but we have never stayed on the first floor, so I figured we would give it a try. I thought maybe we would like being able to walk out to the ourside....

We got to the room and Mousekeeping was in the room.
First Room with House Keeping
I thought this was weird cause we got the room ready a decent amount of time ago. I thought maybe we had the wrong room...

So we went back to the checkin desk and told them. And the CM checked and she said it should be fine. I tried to clarify where the room was just to make sure I was going to the right place..... and....... the CM tried to tell me to take the elevator down one floor. And I said you mean just walk down the ramp? And she said no the elevator. (for reference, if you come off the elevators on the side just past the counter service, it was straight ahead... There was NO way to take the elevator down) I just looked at her like she was crazy. I was tired, it had not been a magical day. So I just said thanks and walked away for being rude.

I left Andy and the girls in the lobby as I was pretty certain I had the right room. I walked back to the room and took a picture of the room, it was infact the right room and then went BACK to the check in desks.

I talked with a different CM, who actually checked with Mousekeeping and confirmed that they were still cleaning the room. He said that was super weird and looked for a different room. he ended up giving us a room on the 5th floor instead.

Reception Desk Animal
While I was waiting for him to check on the room, I noticed the rat under the counter!!!

We headed up to that room..... and...... our magic bands didn’t work.

So we headed BACK down to the lobby. The same CM saw us and asked what was wrong now. And we told him that we couldn't get into the room. He took all of our magic bands and specifically coded them for the room. He said he would take us up to make sure it worked. Which was nice.

Finally we were in the room!
Finally in New Room

It was 5:30 by the time we got into our room. It was NOT a magical expierence getting into the room! But we tried to relax and regroup!

-----------------------------------up next......... Extended Evening Hours------------------------------------------------

I am going to do one more installment. I don't like being negative here, this is my happy place for reading about magical days. But I have said it before, I also want to share all of our expierences good and bad.... Once I get past this part of the day, this get better. So, I am plowing through!

Day Four: Starting the night off on the wrong foot

Once we were in the room. I unpacked enough to find our refillable mugs and headed down to get some drinks.

We relaxed and unpacked a bit.

At 6:00 PM I logged on and got us a boarding group for Guardians for tonight. We got pretty high boarding group. This just seemed to be par for the course for the day. When I looked to see where they were, they were MUCH lower. Our expected time to be called was 10:59! Eek that is close to the end of the EEH!!!

Andy was a debbie downer about it and said there was no way our group would be called. He just kept saying there were too many number between. And I kept saying that some number might not get called. That once EEH started, they would start at a certain number. Some folks, number would just not get called potentially. I kept saying that if they dont' get to some numbers, they wouldn't use those number, as you would ahve to be a deluxe resort you can’t get on after 9:00. And he just wasn’t listening to me.

We eventually headed back to EPCOT for Extended Evening Hours. We left around 7:30. We had wanted to have more time to rest but that didn't happen.

Gwen decided she wanted the Remy Plush and I wasn’t sure if we would be back to EPCOT after today, so it was tonight or nothing. So, we wanted to get to EPCOT with time to get to France to get the plush and back towards the front to do some rides.

We looked the app and headed down with time for the bus. BUT the bus ended up being super early and we literally just missed a bus. So we had to wait a bit.

Once at EPCOT we headed back to France. I gave Andy and Morgan the options to stay up front. Morgan was pretty tired and Andy’s back was really bothering him. But they both decided to come with Gwen and I.

But by the time we walked all the way back, Morgan had broken down and Andy’s back was KILLING him. So, once Gwen made her purchase, Morgan just started crying. Poor thing.

I suggested we see if there was a line for desserts in France. Which there wasn’t! So we got in line to get Morgan a treat. She chose the Raspberry Lime Macaroon. And Andy wanted a bottle of water.

She ate it while we worked out way back towards the front of the park. Once we got towards Figment, I suggested we do that, and it was CLOSED! This broke Andy and Morgan. They were just complaining and tired. So, I told them they needed to go back to the hotel.

Andy said me and Gwen should stay, so we did. I think Morgan wanted to stay in theory but she was just tired and done with the day.

Andy said Morgan didn't talk the whole way back. So they were a happy pair!!!

Oof...rough day. But it happens at Disney - too much overstimulation and too much togetherness. And I'm sorry about the check in experience. I have learned that I ALWAYS have to go to the front desk and have them code my magic bands. Somehow, they NEVER work unless I do that.

As for the movies at Sci Fi - oh they are so very, very real. The last time I was there was a New Year's Eve with my dad. And he LOVED it because he remembers all of those movies. I think we sat through the reel 2 or 3 times just so he could tell the stories of all the plots of each movie, when he had seen it, etc. It was so much fun! I haven't been back there since - probably 2006/2007??

Yes, a rough day! But it happens. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses. Good idea to split up your group. Hope you enjoy your evening!

Oh man. It is never fun to have a rough day, but it happens to the best of us. I am glad it gets better after this. I hope you and Gwen were able to enjoy the evening and salvage some of the day!
