Some of you may remember the person who defrauded several DIS members out of approximately $3,000 a little over a year ago. The saga of that mess is detailed here: "Sad Story from One Who Trusted Without Checking"

Well, she's B-A-C-K ...or at least, she's potentially back.

During the above series of frauds, she was using her associate membership on her aunt's BCV contract to defraud victims.

In October 2007, the aunt conveyed the account to her, so she is now a DVC owner.

When we last saw this little slice of heaven in late 2006, she had been evicted from her flophouse in upstate NY because we sent the police to knock on her door (apparently a police visit is considered bad form in some circles). She was last seen, in fact, pushing all her belongings around in a grocery cart (seriously).

Given that lifestyle, she seems an unlikely candidate to actually take a Disney vacation. Call me cynical if you like, but I think she'll use the account for fraud again.

DIS rules prohibit me from posting her true name, and I respect those rules. I have her true name and an address for her, so if you are considering a rental and you'd like to run a name by me, please PM me.

Like last time, no idle curiousity-seekers please. But if you have a legitimate need to know whether you are dealing with this person, I'll be glad to tell you.

BTW, Lovemy3babes and KatGarcia -- the owner you are dealing with is not this crook.

This is awful! I'm so sorry you went through this, and am so glad you wrote about it for all of us to learn from- thank-you!

How did you figure out she was back?

That's sad news, Jim! I can NOT imagine why the aunt would give her the contract, and I also can not imagine how she can even pay the dues!

I wasn't a victim; others were.

I found it on the Orange County Comptrollers site.

Perhaps when she makes her next "rental" she will go ahead and pay the dues, sigh....

I can think of several reasons -- she may have victims still hounding her...she doesn't use it herself...poor little niece...
and I also can not imagine how she can even pay the dues!
Oh, that part is easy! It's only a 150 point contract -- one ripoff and the dues are paid.

Thanks for you diligence and for following up on this case.

This should serve as yet another reminder that potential renters should use due diligence before entering into any agreement and certainly before sending any payment to anyone.

Every potential renter should read http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1669863 as well as the "sticky" posts at the top of the DVC Rent/Trade board.

Renting points saves you a lot of money, but also involves some risk, and renting is not for everyone.

This is too bad!!!:sad2: I cna't believe how some people would take advantage of other people like that. Shame on them!! I myself, started renting out points this year and i get pleasure helping out the renters plan their vacation in Disney.

Please don't waste your time and mine asking me to PM you the name.

It is against DIS posting rules to publish someone's true name here. Therefore, I will not publish this woman's name, either publicly in a thread, or privately by PM or email.

However, if someone sends me the true name (not screen name, which is no help) of a person they are considering renting from, I am allowed to tell them whether or not they're dealing with this crook.

Thanks for this info Jim!:thumbsup2

I do remember this horrible person from before. Didn't Tom from TTS help out the victim? I seem to remember that happening in this case. Anyway, it was a very sad situation at the time and I'm hoping to NOT see a repeat of this happening again.

Most likely I'll be needing to rent points again in a month or so, and I'll definately run the member's name by you if it's someone I don't recognize. Thanks so much for your very kind and thoughtful offer!:)

Yikes!!! Here we go again...

Jim -- Have you actually seen anything that might be rental activity from her?

Hopefully she'll just sell the contract and get herself a decent place to live with the proceeds.
