A ? regarding the times of the Fantasmic DP...

We are not interested in doing the early seating for Fantasmic this coming summer. Its my understanding (from reading threads) that you can only use the voucher for the early show? Is this true? Why could you not use it for the late show? Has anyone been able to use the voucher at the 2nd show of the evening? (this makes no sense to me...what would be the difference)

My next question....IF you can only use the voucher for the early seating...how difficult is it to get a seat at the 2nd show? Do we have to be there hours ahead of time? I surely hope not....

The second show is much less crowded so there isn't a need for the reserved seating (my understanding anyway).

Don't think they have a reserved seating area for that later show, sorry, don't know why they do it that way.

The later show is usually less crowded, but to get a decent seat, you still have to be there 60-90 minutes before showtime. I'll tell ya, we stood in the back in December because it was standing-room only by the time we got there (last minute decision to watch it since sis had never seen it) and we didn't have a bad view, just couldn't see the characters too well, but since I was videotaping, I could zoom in just fine. But, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you had the option of getting there earlier.

Do you need to do the FDP in late August? I want to eat at Sci Fi this time.

If it's during the week and late August, I would say probably not. Just make sure you get to the theater at least 50 minutes ahead for that time of year. Even when we went in September of 04 and the crowds were super low, Fantasmic still filled up, so as long as you don't expect to walk in 10 minutes before the show and find a good seat, you'll be fine without the package.
