A refund at Kohls store

I am thinking that I may not quite like the Fiesta buffet plates that I ordered from Kohls, and would just rather go with the lunch plates instead. So when I receive my order, can I return those plates to the store with receipt of course and just get a store credit instead of my money back?

I rather a return not mess with my Kohls cash and such. And there is plenty of other stuff I could use the credit on. Can this work?

When you return merchandise from a purchase that earned Kohl’s Cash®, you will get a refund in the form of your original payment, and it will decrease the value of your Kohl’s Cash®.

± Did you already spend your Kohl’s Cash?

If you have already used your Kohl’s Cash®, you will get a refund in the form of your original payment, and the amount of the Kohl’s Cash® will be deducted from your return amount.

± Are you returning merchandise that was purchased with Kohl’s Cash?

If you are making a return or price adjustment on an item you bought with Kohl's Cash®, the value of the Kohl's Cash® coupon will be returned as a Kohl's Merchandise Credit.​

Ughh. Bummer. Oh well. Maybe I will like the buffet plates. I may be jumping the gun on it.

They used to allow you to take store credit and it not affect your Kohl's cash, but now they don't. They will decrease your refund by the value of your Kohl's cash.

I am VERY careful with what I buy at Kohls because I hate their return policy. But if I were you I'd stop by the store and see what happens. You can always void the return and keep your merchandise.

If the price doesn't fluctuate much you can return it without a receipt and get store credit. I have done this a few times. Sometimes the return price is very different but often it is not. I just ask what I would get before they process it.
