This is probably a stupid question but here goes, we are for OKW next month and we intend to get the refillable mugs. What I need to know is can we get tea (daren't ask this on the USA part of the board cause they drink it cold :confused3) , I know you can buy tea but I didn't see any teabags near the drinks machine when I was there last year.
And what about hot chocolate do they have this for the refillable mugs?
Might be as well buying a travel kettle and bringing the stuff with us.

Just back from ALL STAR SPORTS, i had Hot chocolate in a refilable mug, don`t know about Tea.

We bought some mugs at all star music, but it wouldn`t let us use machine at all star sports, despite notice saying you could use at all 3 hotels, they
were in process of changing machines, i suspect they now have a chip in the bottom of the cup, as you now place the cup on a lever, like a car clutch pedal, i suspect it "reads the cup", as it told me when i could have my next drink !!

yes you can get tea. There are tea bags along with the sugars and sweetners at the drinks station. Mind you take two bags if you like your tea to have some flavour though ... those Nestea bags taste like .... Never mind, just use two :lmao:

doesn't the room at OKW include a hot water kettle?

I don't know about OKW, but when we were at WL last year the tea bags were kept in the cupboard below the drinks machine (had to ask a CM to find out!).

We are at okw next month! Seems great saying that

You can get most drinks in those mugs

i was pretty sure that the rooms at OKW include a hot water kettle.

We stayed at pop century last month - where there is no kettle in the room.

but since i'm too lazy to go to the food court, i bought an electric kettle to have in the room - and brought tea and coffee from home (and bought milk to have in the fridge).

They have coffee makers in the studios(no idea about other rooms) they are new after the refurb and pretty useless, or the one we had was useless, even after going thru the machine I had to give the water a blast in the microwave for 30 seconds, we like a hot drink not warm.

Again don't know about OKW even though we stay there we rarely go near the HH or food outlets, seen teabags at other places though like Poly, they had a wooden chest there with lots of different bags in to help yourself, I would think all resorts have if you ask.

oh - i thought it was a hot pot.

too bad i didn't pass on the electric kettle i bought last month. (the electric kind that boil water)

i just left it in the room - we didn't have room in the luggage to take it back with us. I figured i'll just buy a new one when we go next time.

i bought it from amazon.com and had it delivered to the resort - it was waiting for us when we arrived for check in.
and we brought the tea and coffee from home. I can't stand american coffee and tea.

We don't like the coffee left in the room so we bought a jar of Nescafe but its a very poor blend in US compared to UK IMO, a small jar lasted us the 16 nights at OKW then 3 nights at HI DTD.
We just like a cup of coffee when we wake, can live without if we have to.

i can live without it, but DSIL is totally addicted.

He has one of those very expensive coffee makers in his house (capucino makers) - and he really can't live without coffee.
i bought the hot pot for him.

i probably should have brought it back home, but then i would have to store it until our next trip. so i left it. too bad i couldn't have passed it on to someone.
it was a really good quality pot.

Oh come on now. Please tell us your opinion on those tea bags :goodvibes

I usually don't have a problem being tactful when absolutely essential, but in this case I think I might get a PM from the mods  Put it this way: My DD told me when she was 6 years old, having taken one sip of her tea "It tastes like water. Are you sure you put a teabag in here?" :rotfl: Bless her, she looked like she was expecting me to tell her to wait for the magic to give some flavour!

There's just no flavour to them at all

wow 11 replies so quickly , must be true what they say about us Brits liking our tea.
Last year at OKW there was no kettle but as wayne says there is a coffee maker, I agree with the sentiments above coffee was lukewarm at best.
We didn't but the mugs last year because we didn't know if we would be anywhere near the machines and we didn't think we would walk to HH as much as we did.
Its mainly for the kiddies (well I say kids they are 18 and 10) big one is a massive tea drinker and the wee one likes her hot chocolate before bed.
When we bought tea last time the had a box of Twinings teabags but it was behind the counter, so I didn't know if they would be available with the mug, would get tiresome i imagine having to ask the counter CM for a teabag all the time esp if they were busy.

I usually drink tea more often than coffee - but tea made in the refillable plastic cup was really yukky! I became a coffee drinker for the two weeks we were there.

I don't know about tea because I don't drink it, but I know that they don't have hot chocolate at OKW.

You can also get soda refills from the turtle pond pool snack bar if that is nearer.

It's not help yourself - the cm will refill them for you.

Oct 2010 it was open 12 noon til 5pm.

Hi have got tea in my mug at OKW - they have a box to choose from which is behind the counter at Goods.

We requested a stove kettle for our 2 bed villa this year but no hob in studio for that.

You will have a blast!!
