This is what I was involved with at work yesterday.................

http://news.mywebpal.com/partners/680/public/news682972.html

The nice thing is We were able to save 1 person. She's a courageous, tough girl who kept afloat in 62 degree water for over an hour with no life jacket or other aid. and was rescued at sea just outside our inlet. My partner & I worked on the her during transport.

We had to work on the other recovered victim after that. Attempting to resuscitate a dead teenage girl (who is the same age as my daughter) just, well, was probably the most worst thing I have ever done on the job. It just (excuse my language) sucked beyond measure.

Give your kids & family a hug today.

You just sometimes never know....................... :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Bad link. Try it again..............

Sometimes I am "Internet-ically challenged" (???)

I heard this on the radio this morning. Very sad.

Sorry you had such a rough day. I know it goes with the job, but it doesn't make it any easier. Take care and hang in there. Maine :firefight

How sad for all the friends and families of the crash victims...especially during this joyous time of the year.

Hugs for you, JimB. I can only imagine how difficult this job can be at times.

What a crappy thing to happen right before the Holidays. I pray for peace for the families tragedy and continued improvement on the girl that survived. HUGS!

I saw this on the news this morning. The father, daughter, and two other girls are from Rome, GA. Only about an hour or so north of me. Very, very sad.

Iheard about this tragedy. for you and all that you do.

I feel for you as I have walked in your shoes. As an EMT the most emotional run I had was performing CPR on an 8 year old boy. My son was 8 at that time also. It was a save but the boy passed away about 2 months later due to a heart defect. Hang in there, this too shall pass. Know that you are not alone. I hug my kids every day and I will give them an extra one tonight. Thank you for your service.

Thanks for your efforts and also for the reminder of how precious life is. Eighteen years ago I resuscitated a drowned 3 year old boy in my role as a camp nurse, my first real job out of nursing school. He lived, but his life was forever altered. It still haunts me today. I hope this girl is ok, will keep her in my prayers.
