We will be at DL next week staying at Peacock Suites for 3 nights. We are thinking of using ART this time, for the first time. I looked into the cost, and it is $4 for a 1 day pass.(adult) It also says that you can board one way for $1 cash without a pass. (Must have passes for children)
We don't plan on going back to the resort mid-day, so if we just pay cash, that is $2 a day, or $4 for two days.
Am I looking at this right?
Is there an advantage to having passes over paying cash?:confused3

Yes, please let me know as we will be there in a couple of weeks!

Yipes, I need to read a little closer! I was looking at the childrens fare. (Silly me) OK, it's past my bedtime! I guess I'll see if the resort sells the passes. It sounds like the way to go, unless we try the walk.
Thanks!:wizard:

The advantage to buying a pass ahead of time is that you don't have to deal with the ART pass machine, which is kind of out of the way & VERY "tempermental" :rotfl: Seriously, the ART pass machine is Murphy's Law in the form of a kiosk; the debit/credit payment feature never seems to work, and it likes to spit cash back out at you when you try to pay with paper money. It is ESPECIALLY fond of this if the ART bus that you need to take back to your hotel is about to leave any second  And since there isn't truly a set schedule for the ART bus, this can be extremely frustrating.

HOWEVER...

You can buy multi day ART passes online, on the ART website, and have them delivered to your hotel for pickup when you check in. It's SO much easier that way...you don't have to deal with the machine, and it doesn't cost extra to have your passes delivered to your hotel :thumbsup2

Thank you for this information! Seems that this would definitely make things easier!

You're very welcome! It really is so much easier to just pick them up when you check in to your hotel!

Great advice. We used ART a few years back and the tickets were pre-ordered, makes life easy.

when we used ART at the Peacock we just bought the passes AT the Peacock, it was very easy. BUT we really don't like using it there because it's at the end of the route so there's rarely anywhere to sit when you board, and people do not get up for children, which is one of my big pet peeves. :) So we just drive to the parking structure when we stay at the Peacock now, it's not faster but it's easier. :)

Do the multi day passes have to be used on consecutive days?? We will be in Anaheim for 7 days and have 5 day park hoppers but we will be going to Universal and Sea World in between days at DL. So if we buy a 5 day pass could we use it on Sun, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat or would we have to use it five straight days in a row??

I'm curious if anyone has had an issue with the kiosk NOT charging your credit card. We bought ART passes on 4/20 for $23 and the charge has never show up on our credit card.

The days do not need to be consecutive. OOOps... I was incorrect, according to ART
"All ART passes run consecutive dates."

Do the ART buses allow ECV wheelchairs? Is it a hassle to use them between the Embassy Suites Hotel on Harbor and the Disney property?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give.

I hate ART for this reason. When we went in December DH had 2 strollers (double jogger and umbrella stroller) while I while I stood trying to hold my 12 month old and hold onto my 2 1/2 yr old. I swear the driver purposely slammed on his brakes at every stop which sent my 2 yr old flying into the strollers DH was holding.

I do not recall ever seeing an ECV on an ART bus. I would call and ask. They are very reponsive to your questions you may have.

Sara ....... ;) he he!.... That would have been interesting though, if it had not been charged. :)
