A married couple I know won two single day, single park tickets in a contest and are visiting DL in January. They're looking for the most economical way to add an extra day, and they don't need hoppers. As far as I know, their cheapest alternative is to just buy two more single day tickets at $69 each. Anybody have any other ideas?

TIA!

I believe you are correct. Since the tickets they got were won they will have no value and will not be upgradeable. They can always ask at the ticket booths when they arrive just to confirm. :)

How nice for a prize. That is wonderful that they won! :)
I would ask too, at the ticket window. It is possible that there is a value on those particular tickets. In which case they can be used for an upgrade. Beginning next year, Disney (On Jan.06 th) will be offering their "Everyone pays the child's price" promotion. For a three day P/H the price will be $149.00.

Park hoppers might be a nice idea. Especially if Dl. becomes very crowded. Then one can just visit DCA for awhile, then go back to Dl. later on.

To pay for two more single day/one park tickets will be $138.00. Which is only $11.00 less from the price of $149.00 for the 3 day park hopper promotion.

Except that the 3 day hopper at $149 is only for 1 person...

Thanks for the input, everyone. If it were my personal choice, I'd get hoppers. That's what I usually do. But I'm just going by what they asked of me. They want to add a single day as cheaply as possible, and said that they don't want to pay extra for hoppers. In fact, they don't even want to pay the full $138 for the two single day tickets if they can avoid it. They wanted to know if I knew of any discounts. But I told them that I didn't know of any way to get tickets any cheaper. I don't think they'd be at all interested in the 3-Day promotional tickets. :)

True, sometimes my math brain does not function all that well. he he!

For me, math is a four letter word. What is funny too, is that when I was figuring that out, I thought to myself, but there are two people. Then I though oh well. he he!

The only other thing that I can think of is the complimentary birthday admission. Will one of your friends be celebrating their actual birth date at Dl.?

Then I think they will be outta luck. No extra day for them. :) They could check Get Away Today.com but I don't think they sell single day tickets there.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure $69 is as cheap as it's gonna get for a 1-day, 1-park pass.

That's pretty much what I told them. But since I've only ever bought multi-day hoppers and have never dealt with single day tickets, I thought I'd get a second (and third and fourth) opinion. Thanks again, everyone! :)
