A question on the bird flu

It currently cannot be passed from human-to-human. However, humans can contract it from birds, mostly by handling sick birds or coming in frequent contact with bird poop.

Humans can catch avian flu when the live amongst chicken feces and contaminants. What it cannot do (yet) is go from human to human. So far, each of the humans infected were directly infection by the chicken contaminants and they did not catch it from another person.

Actually there were a couple cases they suspect WERE human to human...one was a girl who was caring for her ill brother.

Well, I'm sure they are "heavily" investigating that and, with today's technology, they should be able to confirm it. The human-to-human transmission is exactly what they are doggedly searching for.

My advice: avoid living among chickens and chicken crap. LOL.

My brothers raised chickens, and I had to help feed them, so I totally agree! :rotfl:

Ya know, between bird flu and mad cow, I think I'll become a vegetarian! :teeth:
