A question from a newbie....

I'm excited to be participating in my first swap (ride swap) on this board. While at school today, we talked about scrap booking. The discussion turned to swaps and some of the girls said they had never heard of a swap. I shared the idea and rules with them. They thought it was interesting. My question is has anyone ever done a swap for another topic other then a Disney theme?

The ride swap is my first one too, but if you look at the message boards at scrapbook.com, there are a TON of different swaps going on. I can't fathom scrapping so much of one subject except for Disney but I guess there are other reasons for swaps

You can do a swap with any topic that you want. School, swimming, camping, scouts, etc. Anything topic could work with a swap if you wanted to do one. Disney swaps are so popular here because this is a Disney board. I hope this helps.

I know there are people who do scraps with Yahoo groups and I came across a gallery of swap elements over on the Lifetime Moments site. Theirs are sorted by element. If you go to the Toppers section you might get an idea of what kinds of swaps they did.

I've only done swaps here, but I'd think you could do things like birthdays, Easter, Christmas, Halloween, school...anything that you might have in common with the rest of the group - although I realize that each of those I just listed are probably most common for people with children.

You name the subject and you could probably do a swap. I'm active in a Yahoo swap group and I've done swaps on another scrapbook site I'm active on.

My problem is that I get so caught up in swaps that I forget to scrap. So I've cut back on a lot of my swapping and I'm trying to focus on Disney since I've got so many Disney pictures.

I used to be active on another scrapping site that had swaps ALL the time on tons of subjects. I even had a notebook that I kept all my swap info in as sometimes I would be in multiple swaps. It's been awhile since I've swapped this much, but you could pretty much find a new swap every day if you wanted!

With a little help, I would be interested in hosting but please let me get my first Disney swap done first. I think a baby swap would be fun. I'm working on both of my children's books--- a boy and a girl.
