Hello!
I have been wanting to do some pin trading but like everything I get involved with I tend to get OBSESSED! Poor DH has been praying I don't get interested in pins. I have been buying them for the past year just to collect and now I am learning more about the fun (and sport) of trading.

Here is my weird question for you experts - I hate to wear things around my neck (like lanyards) and I dont want to carry a book with me around the parks - does anyone have another creative idea to sport my pins for trading?

Thanks!!!! :) :)

There is a pin trading vest you can buy. My DH and I started our addiction 2 years ago and immediately bought a vest. We got our at AK but they are available at all 4 parks. Maybe some resorts as well though I'm not sure on that one. The last time DH and I went together, he wore the vest with pins on it and I wore the lanyard. It was a lot of fun. I have seen some of the "supertraders" wearing these vests. You can also put your pins on a hat and wear it like that. Personally I don't really like hats but it does help with shade in the Florida sun and is an answer regarding your pins. Just remember that you have to take it off if you want to ride the thrill rides.

Anyway, welcome to the family and hope we trade some day.

Hi, and welcome to this mad obsession!! :teeth:

Some people wear the khaki vests like the supertraders at Epcot and wear their trader pins on that. The main drawback would be that (I imagine) it can get hot and heavy, and I don't know if you want to be that "hot and heavy" (ba-dum bump!) into pin trading. Same can be said for wearing pins on caps and hats. If you do go the hat approach, I would highly recommend rubber pin backs.

At the AK event earlier this year, all the attendees received a pin trading fanny pack, with pages for traders inside the pack. You could get a regular fanny pack and keep a lanyard or two of pins in that.

There's also the pin trading backpack, a very easy to carry pin bag.

Other than that .... anyone else have any ideas?

Similiar to a lanyard, but not the same, my sister used her water bottle strap (like you get at the stands in the park) to put her pins on as well as carry her water with.

You could possibly use a towel, but you'd want a bag or something to tuck it into if you aren't trading.

on the last trip my dd and I just picked out 5 or 6 trader for the day and pinned them on the top of our fanny packs. Only had one minor problem in 9 days so it worked for us. We would put really want to keep trades inside the fanny pack for safety.
