Hi All You Experts!

I've just spoke with MS regarding my waitlist for December 31st, 2004 ~ 1 Bdrm, BCV. Just wanted to make sure it was still there as I had received my confirmations.

Is it normal that there is no availability but he did offer me a 1 bedroom for the Cash Rate?

What's up with that?

 in the Great White North!

Thanks

Yes, it is possible that there is no availability for a points reservation but still availability for a cash reservation.

The inventory of rooms available for points reservation is separate from the inventory of rooms available for a cash reservation.

Rooms get into the cash inventroy several different ways:

* Disney retains ownership of a small percentage of every DVC resort. If these rooms are not needed for maintenance or other "adminsitrative/management" purposes, they may be rented to the general public for cash.

*Unsold/Developer's inventory. These are rooms represented by unsold portions of a DVC resort (for example, a large portion of SSR is not sold yet) or ROFR buybacks /foreclosures. Room nights represented by these points may also be rented out for cash.

*Room nights that are given to CRO by DVC to pay for the non-DVC options chosen by DVC members. For example, if a member books a cruise on points, DVC must pay cash to the cruise line for it. DVC gets the cash by allowing CRO to rent out the equivalent number of room nights for cash. This category actually represents the largest share (by a lot) of the DVC rooms that are available for cash to the general public.

HTH. Hope your waitlist comes through.

Best wishes -

Just Making Sure since wasn't sure.

Keeping fingers crossed!
