Do you collect all the colors or just one of each size?

Hello Nat,

What do you mean by one of each size?

Of all the colors offered of the current battery power monorail, I have only the red, and that's enough for me. Although the motor system is OK, it would have been much better with transformer power.

The uncommon, unpowered toy set that was sold in the early 90's... I have only the lime green and the tape stripe is starting to shrink. It was offered in a lot of different colors too.

I have both a red and blue Schuco set, and a silver train only. I like the MK 1 the best.

But if Disney ever offered a very highly detailed, static model of the MK 1, in O gauge, in both red and blue... yeah, I would have to have both of them!

By size I mean types. I have a few that are different scale....I would love to get a Schuco set.

I don't collect monorails but Richie does as of New Year's Eve.
The shunt they put in his artery is an "Express 2 Monorail" shunt.
I bet that is not the kind of monorail your talking about though is it Nat?

Yea that would would be a pretty good guess. Glad to hear Richie is doing better...

Gee Nat,

Maybe you know of something I missed?

I know about the Schuco sets...

I have the static toy from the early 90's...

As well as the current battery train in the parks now...

and the recent static die-cast set from WDW...

What else do you have?

NHMickey how did you get your mickey pin trading clip art? i collect a lot of pins too and i want to beable to have one of the pin trading clip arts.

I got it from one of the folks here who made it for me. You could post a post asking for help on making it or getting one.

As for the different size monorails I mean types. I have the die cast the plastic one from the park and a few other ones like salt and pepper shakers and the toy one you can buy of made of soft plastic that is a bank. I am looking at a pull toy from DL that looks like it is from the 60's or 70's... I still hope to get one of the old ones from Schuco... but those are a little out of my $$$ right now.

I've never seen the pull toy...

Besides what has been mentioned, there was the Monorail Christmas ornament from a couple years back- the one that needed three hangers. This past trip I found a 3 car glass mono ornament at the Contemporary. VERY Fragile! Of the several on the rack, only one was unbroken and my son has that now.

Concourse Steak House had a childs menu a few years ago that was a cardboard punch-out monorail. Pretty neat.

Then there was the resin Mono magnet sold at the reopening of the new Tomorrowland at DL. About 3 1/2" long. I'm sure you already have the new talking mono magnet on your fridge...

Some years ago the Disney Gallery did an attraction desk set in resin. The monorail was the paper clip holder. Almost 9 inches long.

But my favorite is the hand carved (?) VIP gift from the 35th Anniversary of DL. Actually it says it's the "Mouse-O-Rail", but since I see no tires on it, it's "BIG Red" to me! Measures approx 21" long and features a miniature replica of the Disneyland 35th street sign.

Don't forget the tiny monorail that comes in the grab bags at the DTD Toy store.

That's all I can think of right now...

Several years ago Bay View Gifts in the Contemporary had commissioned numbered framed sets of 12 monorail pins (one of each color). They were sold at the time one of the Disneyana Conventions was in the hotel, although you did not have to be a ConventionEar to buy one. They were limited to 300 and numbered. When I move into my new house I will take it out of storage. I have either #1 or #300, am not sure which. See PinPics 10383.
