A question for Georgia (female) DISers

I will be in your state this weekend and don't know what type of clothes to bring. It looks like it will be in the 60's during the day and 40-50's at night.

I have some black wool walking shorts & a microsuede jacket that are good for travel (both day and night use). Will I look out of place in wool and suede? We will not be doing anything "dressy" and are packing carry-ons only; no checked baggage. The ensemble will work well with other combinations that I want to take.

Also, are you wearing sweatshirts?

I'm from the north, with lots & lots of snow, so your temps look tropical to me!

Any input would be greatly appreciated. We leave in 12 hours!!!!!!

Right now it's 61 degrees and today was rather unseasonably warm! I wore a cotton sweather and cotton slacks. My son, on the other hand is wearing sweats, as usual!

This weekend is supposed to dip down into the 40s at night so I think your ensemble will be fine then. During the day in the 60s I'd wear layers.

Don't worry, the Fashion Police are far and wide in Georgia! Just be comfortable!

It seemed to be cooling down this afternoon when i was outside. I live way down in south Ga heh!!
I predict rain tomorrow night and the freezing cold Sat! Its Honor Band Weekend, and thats what happens EVERY year!!

I agree w/ Robin, the Fashion Police are very far and wide! Besides, you'll never see these same people again, who cares if they think you fit in or not!

Which part of Ga are you visting?

It's been very nice down here but the thunderstorms are heading our way this weekend. Today it got up to 71!! I'm with Robin though, wear what you want..

We will be in Atlanta, the Buckhead area. I know that there is an Atlanta DISmeet but I don't think I'll be able to make it. I'd love to come but DH has a seminar starting at 1pm and we don't know how long it will last. If it is only an hour or so, then I would regret not being back there when he is done.

Before our DGD was born, I traveled with him often. Now, it is so rare and this may be the only trip this year that I can go with him.

We have tickets for "Out of Order" in Marietta Square on Saturday night. We hope it is good. Tried for the Lion King but decided that we didn't want to spend $300 per ticket!

How far would the DISmeet be from our area?

I think Buckhead is about an hour or so from Marietta-according to the traffic.

I'm about 2 1/2 hours NW of Atlanta (I'll probably be 30 minutes from Marietta this weekend though), and it's been kinda cool to me. It got up to the mid to high 50's today. You won't need to bundle up from being cold, and there's not any snow this way.

Claudia, I'll be in Atlanta this weekend too! I'm coming up for the DIS meet and I'd love to meet you if you can make it. The weather looks like it's going to be beautiful except for some rain in the forecast. I'm taking some nice jeans, boots and long sleeved blouses and a jacket in case it gets to cool. I think your outfit sounds very nice.
