If you are using one of the fort's cable modems...can you give me the model number from it? I had a hard time getting one this last trip and thought of just buying one.

It won't work unless it is programmed for their system. It has to be one that they provide.

Is it possible to pre order one so it is there when you arrive? I need one so that I can connect my ipad, I know I will need a wifi router, was planning on getting one from Walmart, would anyone know which type I would need

Thanks:cool1:

It maybe possible to bring your own but I'm quite sure no one at FW will be able to help you. They will most likely give you the phone number of the outside company that provides internet for them and its really up to them on whether its OK.

It they do allow it, they will ask you for the MAC address of the modem to put in their system, its on the unit. Once on the system it should send down the config info to make it work. I used to do in home Geek Squad like work and installing customer supplied cable modems was something I did.

But even if you do buy that exact model there maybe different versions of the that model and you may have to be running a certain level of firmware.

Of course the bigger issue is do you know they have free wi fi through out the campground? I'm sure others here can tell you how strong it is and other tips to get a good signal.

But since there will quite a few people on Wi Fi that should mean that there should be more modems available.

The only "Disney wireless access" is at the Outpost, pool, Meadows TP, and the Settlement, or if your close to a cabin.

If you want internet at your site you need the modem.

Ok...let me be clearer...I just returned 6 days ago and it took me 3 days to get a modem and was on a waiting list 15 people long. This was for February which would be considered a slow time by comparison to other times.
