A question about Wish Flight

We have been booked on a Wish Flight... changed our plans actually do get to do this (we were going to go several days later) and our connection is in DFW... where the big celebration is going to be held.

Our layover is only 50 minutes so I feel like we are going to miss the whole celebration! Do most families go up the day before or is this pretty standard? Our paperwork says to arrive at least 2 hours early but our chapter booked the flights.

Our city of origination is Corpus Christi which has the tiniest airport. Do you think they are planning something there? I do NOT want to come across as ungrateful because we are nothing but completely thankful for this trip, I'm just wondering if we should try to make our way to Dallas sooner... if it can even be changed.

We have a huge chapter and getting answers is pretty rare if not impossible so this whole question might be moot anyway. I guess I'm just wondering what we are missing out on by arriving with just enough time to change gates and board our new plane.

Well... VERY EXCITING NEWS!! Turns out they ARE planning something in our city of origination... which is totally awesome and unexpected! This is the TINIEST airport... literally like 6 gates so Rachael will probably be one of just a couple Wish Kids if not the only one being celebrated! I know DFW will be a big party, but this is in OUR town and will feel so special. Dh says "We're gonna make the evening news because nothing else will happen that day."

I am beyond thrilled for Rachael!

This child has melanoma. And she got an amazing start to her wish trip!
