On another board a poster mentioned going to the pools at other resorts. When I've looked for info on this it mentioned that at the Yacht Club they have a guarded fence up around Stormalong Bay, and only their guests and DVC members can get in.

Are any of the other resort pools guarded in this way? My kids are not good enough swimmers for the big water parks and I thought we might have some fun visiting other pools.

I wouldn't want to be kicked out of a resort, though, if this is officially against the rules and they actually check to see if you are staying at that resort or not.

Is the Yacht Club the only one with the "guests only" requirement?

BTW...we're staying at Movies, and while the pools there will be fun, my kids have seen the planning DVD and would love to visit other resorts.

All of the resort pools are only for the use of that resort's guests. There are signs posted, and at least at the deluxes, they do check resort ID's from time to time, and will ask you to leave if you don't have one. Stormalong Bay is fenced, and in fact DVC members are not permitted to use that pool unless they're staying at BCV.

There are two exceptions to the no pool-hopping rule:

1. If you're staying at an All-Star resort, you may also use the pools at the other two All-Stars.

2. If you're staying at POR or POFQ, you can use the pools at both of those resorts.

Both water parks have extensive areas for smaller kids, so I wouldn't let the fact that they're not strong swimmers deter you from visiting. There's plenty to do, even for non-swimmers.

The above poster covered it pretty well. Pool hopping is not allowed. If you want to use a particular pool, stay at that hotel is a paying guest, and you will be entitled.

I would also suggest going to the water parks. The kids areas are great, and don't require your kids be great swimmers.

The OP has received the information. I am going to close this before it gets into a pool hopping debate. Thank you for your help.
