A question about PPH and DCA...

Okay, here's a question. We plan on having breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at the PPH on the same day I plan on spending the day (or the majority of it) at DCA. Is there a way into DCA from PPH, like a short cut, or is the only way in through GCA or the front gates? Just trying to work things out in my head, lol. And minimize looking like I don't know where I'm going .

You must walk thru the Grand. It is not far and takes you to the Grizzly River Rapids inside the park.

That's kinda what I thought. I don't really have any experience with the hotels themselves. Will they let us through the GCH into the park if we aren't staying in that particular hotel but another DLR hotel?

I believe all resort guests can use the GCH entrance as all the resort room keys look the same, at least our GCH keys did not specify a hotel.

Yes you can use the GCH entrance as long as you are staying at one of the three hotels. Last June we stayed at DLH and when we went to DCA we used the GCH entrance.

Last time I went to DLR we only went for a day trip. We ate breakfast at Storyteller's then walked into the DCA entrance. I don't think you have to even be a DL Hotel guest.

You are supposed to show your room key at the GCH DCA entrance but they don't always ask. You can be a guest at any of the hotels to use that entrance but if they do ask for your key and you don't have it you won't get in that way, they will send you around.

We actually had to have our charge slip that the front desk gives you. We had our room key and they let us in, but they said next time we had to show our charge slip from our hotel ( I think it has the days that you are staying on it)

I think you only need to show your room key to get in when the park first opens, after that they don't ask.

I thought it was the charge slip as well...? DH carried all of that, so not sure. I'd just make sure you carry both.

Paradise Pier used to have a dedicated entrance to DCA, but they closed that entrance a couple of years ago.

A couple of comments to the OP.

- My last two short visits to DLR we stayed at the Paradise Pier & walked into or out of the "Top Secret" GCH/DCA entrance over a dozen times. Never were asked to produce our PP charge slip.

- If i was going to have a meal at the GCH or the PP (like you are), I would just have the Restaurant receipt handy....I can't imagine not being able to use the "Top Secret" entrance if you just dropped $100+ at Disney meal.
