When I was in fourth grade I was standing in the bathroom and a girl asked me to hold the door for her. My hand slipped down into the crack between the door and the wall and she started to open it and it smashed the joint under my fingernail between the corner of the door and the wall.

That was several years ago. I'm in highschool now. but over the past few months its been very sore and it feels funny. I'm not sure how to discribe it, but it feels odd.

This is recent. I'm not sure why its only started feelign this way now, for a long time it never bothered me.

Its not bothering me much, I'm just wondering why it is doing this.

thanks in advance!

well, it's possible that the original injury was a fracture that never healed properly. My best friend's son had a similar injury which didnt cause him any trouble until HS. Then it just stayed sore. Come to find out, it was growing improperly and he needed some minor surgery to straigten it out and repair whatever was causing the pain. Hopefully, that's not the case with you. But if it continues to hurt and there isn't a good reason for it to hurt, then let a doctor look at it.
