A question about monogrammed sheets

If a set of bed sheets is monogrammed with a name, can the name be removed (with a seamripper) without leaving a "shadow" of holes or weakend material where the letters were?? Or do you think once something has been monogrammed, there's no getting rid of it?

I would think that it would leave the outline of the tiny holes
from the sewing....
