If you have the DDP for the rest of the family, including 1 child and you have another child age 2 1/2...Do you normally buy food for the younger child or are the children's portions (chicken fingers, mac & cheese) usually generous enough for sharing?

TIA

I think it depends on how much your kids eat. We use to order our 2 year old DD her own food but she never ate it so now we are back to sharing.

The portions at DW are pretty big, a lot of the times I considered getting a kids meal for myself as it would probably fill me up.

You could try sharing once and see how it goes.

Have a great trip.

We ordered food for our DS2 while on the DDP, and it was a mistake. By the end of the trip he and DD5 were sharing their meals with some to spare. It all really does depend on the apetite of the children. If all else fails and sharing is not enough you can always order more. Have a great trip!

We are just home from 10 days in WDW, and we found it very easy to share from our meals with our dd 20 months. I did travel with several of those gerber toddler meals, just in case, but I brought them all back home. We were a big group (myself, dh, grandma, and kids ages 12, 11, and 6 in addition to the 1 year old) and there was always more than enough to share...especially table service where everyone also had an appetizer in addition to a meal.

I did bring some toddler crackers from home for snacks and we also purchased containers of fresh fruit with snack credits at our resort food court. Plus, several of our TS meals were buffet and one was family style, so dd was allowed to eat from those places for free. And something else nice, at each ts meal we ordered a kid cup of milk for dd, and we were never charged for this...they accepted the dp credits and that was all. I did not even really think about how this happened until we were home and I was answering another question about feeding a toddler.

I would think it would be easier for the adults to share a bit with the 2.5 year old than the other child as the adult portions are so much bigger to begin with and you get several courses.

The plan is for our 5 and 2 y/o neices to share a plate, and for my DD1 to eat off our plate, we'll just have to order something healthy! If not I'm sure they'd accommodate.

We're not on the dining plan, though.
